Andromeda was always a mistake. He got pissed at Tapert and Raimi and left a network hit that had another 50 episodes in it (worth millions in syndication money to Sorbo) to work on shit sci fi on cable just because he got pissy.

a lot of shit happened user, he had strokes, got pissed at the hercules creators for funneling their top writers/producers to xena, kull the conqueror was a massive flop, he left hercules and killed the show abruptly to go work on andromeda which was a flop on a bad network, he became an outspoken conservative christian
