Good restoration but a poor adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel and the ending was too ambiguous. The Creature is to Frankenstein as Adam is to God, but the 1910 version never really goes into The Creature's fall and the ending was too sappy. The Creature should've killed Frankenstein's bride as in the novel and Frankenstein doesn't learn to bear the responsibility for his lack of action.

As someone who almost walked down that dark road of being an incel, I can tell you that this short only has a surface-level understanding of that community and blatantly shows that to the audience. I would rather instruct people who want to see what incels are to check out this video made by ContraPoints. ContraPoints is able to break down the community and give perspective on these people, instead of just showcase stale stereotypes and think it’s prolific.

That all being said, I do not condone the actions or beliefs of incels; they are not good people, and their rampant misogyny, pedophilia, and even blatant racism at times is never a good thing. The underlining problem of the short is that it critiques incels off of their most basic of stereotypes and doesn’t take the time to really develop what leads young men down this road. Incels are more than just dudes with no friends, they’re hateful people that showcase disgusting beliefs and, in many cases, are so far down their rabbit holes of bewildering beliefs that nothing can be done to snap them back to reality.

I remember the incel subreddit. I used to go there sometimes because there were some funny stuff, but at the same time it was very sad and unsettling. This film makes a great job in making you feel weird and uncomfortable. I love the use of images to narrate. I mean, that's the core of filmmaking but there are people that can't do it and people that can, and this director can do it beautifully.

Props for the lead actor. I just googled him and discover he's in a Dolan film. I'll probably check it out soon.
