What made this movie so kino and why isn’t there a sequel?

Coraline’s normal mom is probably the most attractive stop motion animated character in history.

>normal mom
>not other mother

haha good one

That what made it hot, mommy trying so hard to look good for daughter

Put this film on with my ~18 month old daughter and she was absolutely transfixed - stared straight at the screen for probably 45 minutes straight. I wish more productions put the same level of effort and care into their movies.

Literally everything went right. Coraline is somehow both peak comfy and horror kino at the same time. A sequel would only dissapoint.

Daring synthesis

Also, Gaiman’s heavy involvement in the movie is a huge reason why it worked.
Unless Gaiman writes a sequel and repeats his contribution, there’s no way a sequel would work.

im glad im not the only one who found other mother attractive

Meh. For some reason I thought her butt was way bigger from when I remember watching it...
Must've been from all the r34 I've seen over the years

Perfect Halloween movie.
I don't think it would be too scary for kids, although I can empathize that some parts may feel like a nightmarish fever dream that will bring about mental strain, like the fakeout ending when Other Mother becomes the spider form.
I can't recall which movie that reminds me of. Another children's movie with a fake safe ending only for it not to be over. It wasn't anything recent even though a lot of movies have used it. I think monster house did it but not sure.
