How did the biggest, most unkillable franchise in the world end up playing second fiddle to capeshit?

The people at Marvel like their characters and fanbase. The people running Star Wars now hate Luke and Han, and hate the fanbase.

How did Disney fuck up so bad? Even the prequels were able to keep Star Wars relevant and the cultural touchstone of a generation.

Disney's whole new meme is to make movies for weird adults instead of children

>The people running Star Wars now hate Luke and Han
They got their wish as they're both dead now just like the franchise is to me.

Because it was aimed at late teens to early twenties whilst MCU is aimed at children and literal manchildren

The truth is that Marvel got lucky with Kevin Feige. If it was someone else it would have ended up like Star Wars or the DCU. I don't like Marvel movies, but the guy knows how to build a cinematic universe and how to please his fanbase.

The gave the job to women and they fucked it up.

oversaturation, enough is enough even for the most bluepilled normies

Lack of imagination and creative bankruptcy. Say what you want about the prequels, but at least they were memorable (even if sometimes for the wrong reasons) and built an entire universe that inspired comic artists, writers, and video game developers to explore in greater detail.

I can't name one memorable thing about the sequels.

>second fiddle
If only. Second fiddle sounds way better than what Star Wars is right now.

>creative bankruptcy

Yeah, if they really needed to milk the nostalgia cash cow, they should have just made a 1 off movie with the original 3 (since Harrison Ford would only do one).
It would have been dumb, but it would have been very successful.
Then they could have either made a new trilogy off the momentum of that film or even used the plot of that film to set up a new trilogy. Either way just don’t mix the new cast and the old one.

>biggest, most unkillable
Even in 2002, AOTC did worse than LOTR, Harry Potter and the first Spider-man

A fucking mediocre sequel to an unremarkable 22 year old adventure film with its main draw card dead had better legs than Last Jedi. The most recent Star Wars movie made as much as Wolf of Wall St; an R rated comedy about degenerate investment bankers.
It's fucking dead.

This

MCU is going the same way because they let femicunts and neurotic gays like Taika Waititi on board.

>The most recent Star Wars movie made as much as Wolf of Wall St; an R rated comedy about degenerate investment bankers.

God damn

it is actually unkillable. they could make 9 more and people would still watch it

Because the feminist movie and the black power fantasy movie ended up making more money than all other solo movies.

>unkillable
what the fuck does that even mean? It's Star Wars, not a great work of art. It was lucky to have a legion of fat nerds to keep it alive when the original movie should've been the only one to exist.

>letting a woman (let alone glorified secretary) handle a franchise made for and beloved by men and boys, whilst largely ignored by girls
>letting JJ (zero creativity Jew) and RJ (I made that episode of breaking bad about a fly so im the best director ever) handle something that requires competence and imagination

And they actually nearly gave the reins of the trilogy's conclusion to the guy responsible for the Book of Henry

He at least loved the source material. Reputedly the creative differences he left the project over stemmed from him objecting to what they were doing with the story, particularly with Luke.

This would have been brillant.

And it's precisely why it wasn't made.

They also hate their own villains they've created, which imo is an even greater mistake. They have their short list of which characters it is correct to like, and fuck the rest.

>How did the biggest, most unkillable franchise in the world
you mean Andy Hardy movies? no, something else?
times change nigher

bad scripts

>oversaturation
You know the question is about capeshit doing better than SW right? Which series has more films, retard?

>Money Laundering

>glorified secretary
This point gets overlooked because most people have no idea how hard and how much talent is needed to run these massive projects. People in KK’s role aren’t just sitting there smoking cigars are counting their money all day. Being the head executive of an organization that size is actually one of the most demanding types of jobs with the highest average IQ of almost any profession and that dumb bitch by all accounts has the brainpower of a potato. The identity politics, Rian’s immaturity, etc. all added to the situation but at its core it was about people like KK being given difficult jobs that they were grossly unqualified for.

>Andy Hardy movies

Yeah, those weren’t made with 200 Million dollar budgets, massive licensing deals and a huge potential international market. The only thing comparable to Star Wars and its money making potential is the MCU

Contemplate the odor

It had 3 prequel movies everyone hated followed by the modern trilogy which is highly controversial at best in quality.

Why Skywalkers again? Even worse is Terminator and John Connor

You know Solo bombed, right?

Whoever was in charge at Disney must have only watched the first few seasons of LOST.

All they have to do is redeem Ben and give him and Rey a happy ending.

They didn't have George`s artistic vision or his good script writing ability.

>muh woman
Have sex

>The people at Marvel
You mean people at Disney? Marvel doesn't exist since 2008.

>memey memering

I wonder what title Rose will have in IX.
Like will they just make a meritless rando greasemonkey a senior officer to justify her presence?

That was pretty good dude

FPBP.
