With the first crash, didn't The Deep find two eyeholes in the hull of the plane? That wouldn't have been an issue with the second crash because it was done in a single straight line and the cockpit would have been fucking wrecked in the collision anyway.

Best way would have probably been for him and Maeve to match speed with the plane, and he grabs it from the front while she holds the bottom, and they both slow down.

In the comics, the scenario was much more inherently fucked and they were much, much more incompetent.

There was still quite a bit of edge, but it's hard for anything to be as edgy as an Ennis comic.

I don't think you quite understand just how extensive and advanced aircrash investigations can be - they will absolutely be able to piece together the equipment and identify melt lines in the cockpit completely irregular to damage in the rest of the plane, especially considering Homelander's eye lazers are theoretically strong enough to burn through the entire front of the plane.
Again, that doesn't explain the black box recording, which would have the entire conversation between Homelander and Maeve in the cockpit, not only proving that they were present before the plane went down but also that they caused the crash.

It's good if you take it as something new. It's pretty fucking bad if you take it as The Boys, though. There's very little from the comics actually in it. They make killing heroes seem like a rarity, and they took away the powers from the Boys, too. There's characters either missing or changed considerably, including entire groups of superheroes. The immoral things the Seven do are more like human flaws, not the insane shit they usually pull. The plot's completely gone out of the window already, as well.

And if we're talking Lord of the Rings, then we're fucked. They couldn't do a faithful adaptation of a simple comic, so they won't be doing anything good with LotR. Plus, The Boys show relies a lot on a certain kind of humour, which would be completely out of place for LotR.

In the comics there are loads of superhero groups besides the seven and the boys go against those groups first before they directly deal with the seven. Against those groups the boys are equally matched. I would've preferred if they'd done more of that, but with only Translucent getting killed it felt underwhelming.
