The most underrated movie in general is Wise Blood (1979).
A Serious Man is the most underrated Coen Bros movie.
Also, though it gets a lot more love nowadays, Heaven's Gate.
The New Word is Malick's most underated.
And Hoosiers gets little respect because it's a sports movie, but it's great.

I've never seen it but I remember my dad saying it was one of the worst movies he ever saw. This was around the time Iron Man came out.
