Hidden gems general

In this thread we post movies that flopped at box office, and went over the critics heads.

The two main stars were the only good thing about this movie. I really wanted to like it but it just wasn't very good IMO.

The ending was great

Literally the best movie of the last 15 years.

It's not "hidden"

>flopped at box office,
check
>and went over the critics heads.
and check

there's an awful lot of mediocre to shitty movies on that list

Okay, I am genuinely interested in what your "best movie of the last 15 years is".

The Rover had the best soundtrack of any feature length movie of the last 20 years.
Other than that it was just a solid bleak indy movie.

This masterpiece flew under the radar.

might not have if there were non-horribly broken english subs available somewhere on the internet

it was just hard to see it

>Almost all shit, well known or both.

all of those movies were well reported about throughout their announcement, production and release
so in this vein, pic related

I've seen it twice now, and I've gone fucking bonkers over it both times. They do Old Hollywood Noir so fucking well, while still maintaining it being almost painfully modern. Like, you couldn't just slap black and white on it and call it noir, the weird color palette MAKES the movie

As for the OP question, I'm gonna throw this boi in the ring. I was a big fan of this one, I'm a sucker for a good true crime story and the way this blends documentary and recreation isn't really comparable to anything I've seen since.

>Buzzard
>Thoroughbreds
I'll give them a pass for those ones, but most of those are pretty widely celebrated in the Indie scene
