Thank fuck I'm not the only one seeing this. Why does no one else ever comment on this? His fish out of water moments in his films and the first 2 Avengers movies were ace. Hell, I was on board with the idea of him having a comedy movie because of the Civil War Team Thor skits which were perfect for the character. The humor that came from Thor was his lack of ability to fit in as a Space Viking God around most situations, but now he's just a Chris Hemsworth quipping.
Most of his actual character development takes place in Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame. Everything from Thor 1, Avengers, Thor 2, and Age of Ultron is the subtle groundwork for everything he goes through in those latter three films that makes him such a great character.
