The worst thing about the story is they didn't continue it in the 2nd movie.

This is one of the worst ever made. Not just movies. Worst ANYTHING. This was more dreadful than the Holocaust (real one, not film).

it's a decent space horror flick, I think people just hyped it up too much like it was going to be as good as Alien

It's physically impossible for a combo of Lindelof and Nu-cameron to make a good movie, so that wasn't going to happen.

Scott, cameron, pretty much interchangeable in terms of quality at this point.

I really like it. Admittedly there's a couple of character decisions that are extremely dumb, but they're at least justified. (Dude is really excited about alien life so he wants to poke it, etc.)

But aside from that Shaw is a great character and is one of the most interesting religious characters in a very long time. Score is great and creepy, visuals and atmosphere are great.

The worst thing about it is probably that it's in the Alien franchise. Covenent proceeded to fucking suck and not continue the story and all the callbacks are the weakest parts of the movie. Works much better as a standalone sci fi horror flick
