I have a dream every year or so that the MGS film comes out and its so fucking convoluted, attempting to draw plot points from every single entry in the series as well as having a story that has fuck all to do with any of the games.

MGS1 is as good a place to start as any but I personally feel like MGS2 has the best old school style stealth with QoL improvements.

Don’t listen to those retards, start with MGS3, then Peace Walker (if possible) then MGS5, then read up on the wiki to learn what happened in metal gear 1 and 2 because no one wants to play those two, though if you want they should come with MGS3 in the HD collection. Then play MGS1, then 2, then 4. Remember, Kojima is too smart to make a properly order the games.
