They are the only reason for Netflix picking up this obscure Polish fantasy series.

The books that would never have gotten 1/10th as big a Brandon Sanderson series of books in the English speaking world (despite being really good books).

The games made Geralt et al a household name, they should stick to that material as the best template. Of course, they don't HAVE to, but it would be the most sensible thing to do for bringing fans on board. I am a fan of all thre games and am reading the novels and I won't watch this without the highest of praise for it coming my way.

I think I would not so mad about the race bending of the characters had they been as dropped dead gorgeous as the characters are described in both the books and vidya but they’re just fucking ugly so it’s disappointing

As much as I love seeing white people in things obviously written to contain them, it's worth keeping in mind Sapkowski was an old commie who wrote about oppression and multiculturalism in the Witcher relentlessly. Any of the more right-wing elements you associate with the series mainly comes from CD Projeckt Red (and even then, Witcher 3 bucked this trend to a degree).
