>The highly-anticipated Lord of the Rings series will be set in the Second Age, Amazon recently confirmed. That places approximately 3,000 years of history between the series and the beginning of The Lord of the Rings . Casual fans may not realize it, but Jackson’s Fellowship of the Rings actually depicted the end of the Second Age, when the last alliance of elves and men confronted Sauron’s forces. The Second Age covered nearly 3,441 years, and it began after the banishment of Morgoth, the dark lord before Sauron. There’s a lot of story potential in that time, including the rise of Sauron, the creation of the One Ring, and the emergence of the Ringwraiths.

The odds of everybody on this board getting a gf in the next year are greater than the odds of this not being shit

well, at least they're not wasting the time of anyone worth a damn with their shitty $2 billion fanfiction

>"Shut up nerd, you just don't understand our artistic vision for the series"

I'm cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the baboons in charge will listen to the Tolkiefags. Christopher Lee repeatedly altered or added to Peter Jackson's project and it shows that an old Tolkien geek had influence

>Emmy-winner Bryan Cogman

I find this quite comforting in a way, at least I can completely give up on hoping it'll be any good.

Shippey*

if you ever had any hope for this project in the first place, you're a little delusional, user.

how many are catholic, white, british?

Can't wait for the scenes with the Last Alliance of Humans and Valino-Ardan Peoples, or Elves as bigots sometimes call them

do you think there will be blacks outside southrons?

i want to believe they could respect the trilogy, maybe just maybe for once theyll not fuck it up??

Elves as /ourguys/, won't happen, they will be as diverse as humans or more.
