Le stephen kign movies are bad
Of all these only the shining and christine are worth anything and that simply because they had good directors.
King will forever be a coked up pedophile hack who just shat out tons of mediocre novels while high but had the right connections to have them published and shilled enough to make him a household name
Only the Shining and Mist are good out of that lot and they're only good because of talented direction and significant deviations from the original narrative and characters.
>carrie and children of the corn aren't good
They're all good, and Cujo is the best.
King is a great tier short story writer.
They aren't. This isn't reddit friend, we don't pretend to like shit films because they have cult followings. Try /r/movies or something like that if that's your gig.
The Stand is the best, and it's not listed.
>Misery is the best film based in a King novel
that is a fact
one of the best directed for sure
the shining may be a good movie on his own because kubrik was a top director but it wasn't good for not following the book faithfully, it wouldve been equally good if not better if it was faithfull
But by not being faithfull it opened the door to directors and writers to feel better than King and butcher his works on bad adaptations that didn't follow the books.
So fuck Kubrick, he had an eye for camera framing but the dude never did an original work of art in his life
I did list anything this is just an example, the dude has more than 30 adapted works
>to feel better than King and butcher his works on bad adaptations that didn't follow the books.
Name even one King film that would have been better if it followed the books.
Dreamcatcher is book-raping dumpster fire of a shitshow.
>hurr the director shouldn't make changes and should just blindly follow the source material
You're salty about the underage gangbang not being in IT too?
>You're salty about the underage gangbang not being in IT too?
Not him, but yes I am
He doesn't even write his own novels. They're written by a committee, because "written by Stephen King and a dozen other dudes" doesn't have the same ring to it.
It, Tommyknockers, Graveyard shift the mangler, Firestarter, children of the corn, dreamcatcher, pet cementery, cujo, the mist, salems lot ... there's tons of them, dude.
You seem to know jackshit, no offense
no but now that you mention it even if you don't need to show it (obviously) you can hint at it by making the kids go out of the sewers with mismatched clothes or something, you can imply it.
carrie has a cult following? nigga please
prove it
>post a more reddit argument
okay
>le stephen kign movies aren't bad
Bam.
The original versions of those stories are all dogshit, though. Stuff like tommyknockers. cujo, firestarter and dreamcatcher in particular are all still going to be terrible regardless of how closely or loosely they follow the novel, because the stories are trash and unoriginal on a fundamental level. And I can't even imagine how much of a tasteless faggot you would have to be to think that the film adpation of the mist wasn't a million times better than the book, jesus christ.
I see you liked the cheap epic twist ending and the crazy christian
>tommyknockers. cujo, firestarter and dreamcatcher in particular are all still going to be terrible regardless of how closely or loosely they follow the novel, because the stories are trash and unoriginal
lol, could you please give me your own works to compare?
>Actually implying that carrie isn't regarded as le epic old horror film that's totally still scary and has friggin deep social themes.
Carrie is the archetype of the cult horror film that redditors pretend hold in high regard but have never actually seen. Same with Christine.
Children of the corn, IT tv series and sometimes they come back, all suck major balls though.
Only reason IT is remembered fondly is because of tim curry, but its a boring snorefest in reality.
Wow, you sure know a lot about reddit and what they like and don't like. I wonder how?
>and the crazy christian
Rofl retard, maybe you should actually read the story before trying to pretend that the film is bad. Absolutely pathetic.
>if u havt dun a book how u say bad????
Yea Forums is 18+, please leave.
christine and Carrie are both good movies and you are a fucking faggot
>inb4 they didnt scare me
did you watch them when they were released? alone? at night? as a kid?
>Carrie is the archetype of the cult horror film that redditors pretend hold in high regard but have never actually seen. Same with Christine.
yeah im sorry this is news to me. it always seemed to me it was just an adaptation of a stephen king book no more no less.
confirmed for not doing shit in your life, lol armchair critic
children of the corn didn't follow the book, it tv series was made for TV and heavily censored, sometimes they come back was a short story that got stretched to a full film and didn't had enough on their own
none of that is kings fault
>did you watch them when they were released? alone? at night? as a kid?
Did you? Obviously neither or those films is even remotely scary (especially not Carrie) bud, you shouldn't need to make any those excuses if the film is actually scary. Well made films like the thing, alien, psycho, jaws etc. are still tense and scary to this day, even with dated special effects and twists being well known.
Meanwhile Carrie and Christine are practically comical in how lame and inept they are.
what a cringe personal vendetta you have
the Carrie actress face alone is scarier than all of those movies
>personal vendetta
Rofl, what fuck retard?
Maximum onions.
Stand By Me
The Green Mile
The Shawshank Redemption
Misery
The Dark Half
overrated shit, the mist is exceptional
lol fuck off
Classic brainlet post.
this wasn't in the book
And? You or whoever made that post was trying to disparage Alien's climax shot, when carrie's cinematography and SFX are a million times worse.
Regardless, the novel's story is bland shit from start to finish and as bad it is, the shitty jump scare ending of the film is more interesting than the novel's wet fart ending.
