Proper adaptation of it would be great. The problem with the comics is that they're just really short and are nothing but pointless edginess. I really liked the comics and wanted to get into them, but it really doesn't go anywhere. You just have some family get raped and killed, in one comic the gimmick is that it's children doing the rape, in another comic the gimmick is that a guy swings a horse penis as a weapon, another comic has a gimmick that people eat shit, it's just gimmicks.
The Crossed universe could make for a really good fucked up horror movie, the people behind the property just don't give a shit. They only want to put out short shitty stories of the same exact bullshit with a different edgy gimmick. No real story, no lore, no characters. The closest it came to telling a story was when you got a bit of info about how the crossed herd works and how they will thin out their numbers until they become small bands of raiders, they have some sort of a hive mentality, and there was that one story where one of the crossed retained some of his humanity.
The Crossed property is just shallow, they haven't done anything with it and no one will ever touch it.

If it were to be adapted they'd need to eliminate the rape and most of the sex horror (e.g. fucking guts or whatever). Hyperviolent infected but that retain a basic (and some advanced) level of intelligence is still an interesting enough concept. Zombies are played out, but infected using tools, building societies, disguising themselves as normal humans, laying traps or avoiding human traps, now that hasn't been done since some of the Romero movies.

Oh there's deep lore and good stories and whatnot. The problem is the nuggets are so few and far between, with so much filler. Maybe 80-90% of the franchise isn't worth reading.

The entire ending hinges on a plot hole. (The continuity error of the timing when he gave the revived woman the camera.) I like Transmet but it's far from perfect.

+100 was so much better than everything else Crossed, it's fucking incredible how galaxy-brained Moore is next to everyone else writing for comic-books. The 'Foundation' twist was about the last thing left to be done with the American neo-Western post-apocalypse drama. It's done now.

The original arc and +100 are actually pretty detailed realistic in how society and infrastructure break down. (There are some basic factual errors, though, like a nuclear reactor meltdown creating a mushroom cloud.) A lot of the other stories delve more into fantasy/exploitation territory.

Just train a few thousand of these boys and give them axes and rifles and masks to avoid infection. Put some guys on horses with kevlar barding and pistols. Crossed have no armor and are emaciated and starving, they would be crushed.
Crossed put their body fluids on weapons to infect people.

I remember a couple years back when it was ok to storytime Crossed on Yea Forums. A lot of people actually loved the comics and some of the arcs are unironically good and could've made good movies. I think the closest thing to a Crossed movie we ever got was the 28 Days/Weeks Later movies.

The earlier versions of the Cross virus didn't turn people into homicidal maniacs and serial killers, it just drove them insane to the point were they committed suicide and they didn't even have the Cross rash on their faces, but later the virus started turning people into the psychopathic, cannibalistic maniacs.

He has been a serial killer even before the outbreak began. Anyway, during a power outage, he began scheming up ways to preserve people who got infected with the Crossed virus. He gathered a bunch of them up and traveled to some place where he could begin some experiments, trying to create more intelligent Crossed.
