>“I have a definite problem with Quentin Tarantino’s excessive use of the word,” Lee said at the time. “I think something is wrong with him... It’s just the n-word, the n-word, the n-word.”
>“I’m not against the word... and I use it, but Quentin is infatuated with the word. What does he want? To be made an honorary black man?"
I don't even like that cuck Tarantino but fuck that DN.
Thomas Diaz
>spike lee dislikes tarantino wtf I love tarantino now
Brayden Torres
It's a black male thing
Brayden Adams
The constant crying about a word, while also using it every other sentence in every other movie, song, or stand-up routine, is directly responsible for the upsurge in casual racism among young people.
It can't be the unforgivable curse for one group of people, and legitimately 25% of the lyrical content of another group of people, with the groups based solely on race, and still have you telling me with a straight face that it's "powerful" and all that shit. It clearly isn't.
Spike is a better directer, and writer, and artist, than Tarantino. Objectively better.
Aiden Phillips
QT - “did you see a sign on my door that said dead nigger storage.”
SL - “hey! That our special word, you can’t say that”
2 minutes later.
A cop is fucking Marsellus Wallace is the ass.
David Cook
Spike wouldn't understand, it's a black male thing
Ryan Howard
Spike Lee has never made a good movie. The only thing Spike ever wants to talk about is that he's black, which bleeds through into his movies, and is the most boring topic in the world.
A racist, obsessed with race, trying to entertain people that mostly don't think about it, convinced that they're all racist. Spike's entire career is clownish.
Jayden Powell
/pol/ memes aside Do The Right Thing was pretty damn good. Definitely on par with Tarantino's work (though that's not saying much)
Henry Hughes
>Only a black man can use the "n word" Wow Spike Lee. Being racist about it seems too far.
Joshua Lewis
The 25th hour is kino
Isaiah Butler
Quentin has a n-word pass given to him by someone with more than 80% African DNA as well as a Barrack Obama seal of approval. He is in the right.
Angel Williams
>Do The Right Thing >a spike lee movie, er, "joint" >whats it about? >being black...again
Quentin has responded to this and absolutely BTFO that uppity nigger. Samuel L. Jackson defends QT's use of it.
Tyler Davis
This is extremely accurate
Angel Howard
Post his response?
Ryder Edwards
Over half of Spike Lee's movies are garbage. She's Gotta Have It, Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Crooklyn, 25th Hour, and BlacKkKlansman are the only good ones. That's 6 out of 22, and the rest are "what the fuck are you doing" tier like the Oldboy remake and Girl 6.
Nicholas Brooks
Do the Right Thing, He Got Game, and Bamboozled are all great films, and if you watched Bamboozled you would know why Spike was upset with Tarantino's n-word usage.
Don't get me wrong, he eventually got bitter at the Do The Right Thing snub and started making indulgent crap he knew Hollywood would eat up, but he has talent.
Benjamin Fisher
Tarantino is a white autist that hasn’t come up with an original thought or line or scene in his life; just rips off and recycles other sources, good and bad, to create clusterfucks of semi-ironic masturbation fantasies for cinema dweebs. Tarentino’s films have zero relevance outside his own hugboxes. Sure, Spike’s movies are flawed. But at least when he fails, he’s taken risk and was doing something original. He actually has a voice. QT is a fake of a photocopy; Spike is the real thing.
Henry Diaz
At this point, Lee is full of more hot air than talent. He criticized Eastwood for not having black soldiers in his historically accurate WWII movie. Then he decided to make his own war flick with black protagonists that was mediocre.
Nathaniel Baker
>As a writer, I demand the right to write any character in the world that I want to write. I demand the right to be them, I demand the right to think them and I demand the right to tell the truth as I see they are, all right? And to say that I can't do that because I'm white, but the Hughes brothers can do that because they're black, that is racist. That is the heart of racism, all right. And I do not accept that ... That is how a segment of the black community that lives in Compton, lives in Inglewood, where Jackie Brown takes place, that lives in Carson, that is how they talk. I'm telling the truth. It would not be questioned if I was black, and I resent the question because I'm white. I have the right to tell the truth. I do not have the right to lie.[144]
Evan Lopez
Meanwhile, it’s not even used once in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, despite the Manson gang hating blacks.
Lucas Powell
For a Hollywood guy that lives around LA puppets, that is pretty based.
spike actually casted qt in a le ironic cameo role in girl 6 which makes it pretty obvious that this statement is just butthurt over tarantino and his films constantly being talked about while nobody gives a shit about him past do the right thing
Elijah Clark
Respect for QT just shot through the roof, I'm going to go jerk it to some feet.
I don't agree with Spike Lee all the time, but the man has talent. Granted Lee is far less consistent than Quentin, yet he takes more risks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I agree to some degree. I like both filmmakers, but I do agree Quentin has a weird obsession with the word nigger. The man loves blaxploitation and crime films, his step-Dad was black, so Quentin has some weird racial confusion going on. Does he use the word correctly? Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown and Hateful 8 it kinda works. Pulp Fiction... Not so much. Plus his male rape scenes are something else. Maybe he has a weird black male fetish? I dunno. He's a weird guy, but I find him interesting.
Part of the reason Tarantino made this movie was to portray the Manson family as a bunch of crazy inept retards. And part of that is not giving any credence to their motive.
Luke Price
He Got Game is a good flick. I just wish Denzel's character had done better in their final game
Brayden Robinson
Spike Lee is a fucking hack, what else is new?
Lucas Walker
He's probably just mad that Tarantino won 2 oscars and he got one out of pity and social obligation.
Ian Sanders
Summer of Sam is comfy
William Garcia
Spike lee is a hack and always has been. The only reason he has a career is his race so no wonder he constantly racebaits.
Lucas Ortiz
>nigger fragility
Luis Powell
How many of these are blacks? Most vocal posters from twitter screencap threads are whites.
Dominic Murphy
Quentin's response to this is unironically based, and I don't even like his movies.
Spike Lee is a fucking cocksucker. He'd be nothing without his black skin.
Hudson Lewis
the dialogue was fun at least
Austin Harris
I don't like Spike Lee but he's on the money here. Did none of you see Tarantino try and talk black for an interview? youtube.com/watch?v=6mzqahILpAs
>it's a black male thing >t. Tarantula SPIKE LEE BTFO
Carson Davis
It's not that it "belongs" to black people it's just a dorky affectation to do it when you are talking to black people. It'd be like being interviewed by irish guy and start talking about wee lads and paddy this and that.
Jaxon Perez
Every black person watching that QT interview: nigger, please.
David Lee
>What does he want? To be made an honorary black man?"
People flipped out when he said this but a few years later Tarantula started doing interviews lie this and it became obvious Spike was 100% right
>I’m not against the word... and I use it, but Quentin is infatuated with the word >and I use it fuck off
Aiden Russell
>Blacks
Lol
Joseph Morris
>t. Leftist retard who probably constantly uses phrases like "ya'll" and "this shit slaps yo" yet at the same time chastises others for supposedly insensitively emulating n*ggers
Nicholas Rodriguez
This is one of them white folk pretending to be colored
