This show any good?
This show any good?
Just started the first episode and it's already cringe. They claim to be going at light speed yet for some reason they put the crew in cryostasis.
It's the worst show Netflix have ever produced. But I can guarantee they'll find a way to lower the bar even further at some point
>(guy astronaut) if we wore uniforms with nametags, quid pro quos would not happen
>(gal astronaut) *smirks* there hasn't been uniforms on ships for nearly a decade. How old are you anyway?
Who wrote this shit
>They claim to be going at light speed yet for some reason they put the crew in cryostasis.
traveling at the speed of light doesn't stop time, i.e 100 light years will still take 100 years for the crew to travel
I stopped 20 mins into episode 1 because of the unlikeable chars
>It's the worst show Netflix have ever produced.
Really? That's impressive.
When did they allow middle schoolers on here?
Yes, even worse than that
To be fair, maybe the FTL they use might not affect the flow of time.
Anyway, the stasis chambers are used to avoid food being used. They are facing problems in the series because they are running low on food only for a few people in the crew being awake.
Nearly a decade places the change after the accident in Saturn. We saw that they wore uniforms in the flashback. Half the crew dying caused a lot of changes, the obvious uniforms but also things like age requirement to send people to missions. We saw how Niko's lover was older and more experienced than her.
I don't think many of you have the focus and attention to details that needs to be used to watch and understand this. Stop whining and actually watch the show. It makes sense when you pay attention.
You're immature little shits just like the crew is but at least they change.
>all this salt in defending what is demonstrably the shittiest writing of 2019
Bruh.
when i saw the alien eating/chesburster homage i knew it would be shite
>saying salt
>saying bruh
Fuck off to stan twitter you little bitch.
gettiing mad won't make the writing any better, you know that.
One thing I do not like is the beyond Prometheus lack of care with possible infection containment.
>light speed = instantaneous travel
>what is time dilation
Already started watching it the trans doctor looks like a Honey Foxxx
other than katee, the cast is an abomination, just a bunch of ugly talentless mutts especially the tranny with the five o clock shadow giving out psychological advice
the writing is garbage too, you can tell they just had a concept and threw shit together from beginning to end taking first ideas for everything
Couldn't get past the first episode, why the fuck are a bunch of teens with one older cmd going on such a high profile mission? It's like a fucking high school drama, no oldies allowed!
The fucking dumb mutiny in the first episode was retarded, there's no real weight to it, and I half expect everyone to have sex instead of fixing the ship. The whole thing plays out like dumbed down ez-bake oven sci-fi with a bunch of tropes sprinkled in for the zoomers.
>I liked.
The sci-fi stuff. That person's nervous system ripping free and exotic particles melting someone into goo was neat.I like to that computer man did not have to do what humans told him. All the bits with the Ayys were cool. The doctor was competent.
>Disliked
There was a lack of world building. Why would an accident cause people not to wear uniforms anymore? The general didn't wear uniform but the soldiers did wear uniforms. So who has to wear uniforms and who doesn't? That whole thing was odd. We could have used the political officer as a surrogate for the audience, like how did the FTL work? What was the ship made of that it can withstand the heat of a sun? That sort of thing. Instead all we got was one throw away the line about artificial gravity. As many have already mentioned the crew were morons.
>The ugly.
Dat 5 o'clock shadow. The writers went out of thier way to write a good tranny charecter with no virtue signaling and the production team fucked it up. That shadow was like a lighthouse.
Probably the worst sci-fi I have ever watched.
1. The mission is the most important mission human kind has undertaken ever, so of course the crew is incredibly unstable and immature.
2.All the characters are intensely unlikable.
3. The scene that sent me over the edge was when they hit an asteroid field, and of course its like the asteroids are 10 feet apart. Then they say, "Oh it must be this starts version of an ort cloud". God damn it. objects in ort clouds are literally AU's apart on average.
I immediately turned that shit off.
Side note: The trans doctor walking around in lipstick and thigh high hooker boots is a little much. Its like they wanted to grab your face and scream at you, "WE ARE PROGRESSIVE!!!!!!!"
Calling it terrible is an understatement. It feels like it was created by a fan-fic writing teen who doesn't have much social interaction, and done absolutely no research on anything.
They send the most elite scientists they have into space to save our entire species, but somehow they actually sent irrational, over-emotional selfish children, who often disobey direct orders, kill each other, don't use hazmat or helmets on foreign planets and literally lick alien fauna, or are horny teens. It's beyond unbelievable, literally every scene is full of wild inconsistencies.
It's fucking garbage. like 25 minutes into the show I hated everyone.
