The 2010’s were seriously an awful decade for movies.
The 2010’s were seriously an awful decade for movies
It is an awful decade for everything
there were plenty of gems. and the artist gets unfairly shafted, it isn’t a masterpiece but i like it
Grand Budapest Hotel and Mad Max Fury Road were good. everything else has been very meh
>Mad Max Fury Road
opinion discarded
*blocks your path*
It was objectively good user
wut. furiosa road is the best hollywood action film of the 21st century.
The artist is comfy and charming and cute i dont know why idiots hate it so much
>furiosa road is the best hollywood action film of the 21st century
>Wojak variant.png
Great argument retard.
2010 Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives Apichatpong Weerasethakul Thailand
2011 The Tree of Life Terrence Malick United States
2012 Amour Michael Haneke Austria
2013 Blue Is the Warmest Colour Abdellatif Kechiche Tunisia, France
2014 Winter Sleep Nuri Bilge Ceylan Turkey
2015 Dheepan Jacques Audiard France
2016 I, Daniel Blake Ken Loach United Kingdom
2017 The Square Ruben Östlund Sweden
2018 Shoplifters Hirokazu Kore-eda Japan
2019 Parasite Bong Joon-ho South Korea
Probably the strongest decade ever for the top prize at Cannes. Blue is the Warmest Colour and Tree of Life are the only shitters there.
The only good think about this decade has been the emergence of Goosekino like Drive, Blade Runner 2049, etc.
how about Taylor Sheridan?
Disagree. Look at the 70s Cannes selections.
1970s
1970 MASH Robert Altman United States
1971 The Go-Between Joseph Losey United Kingdom
1972 The Working Class Goes to Heaven § La classe operaia va in paradiso Elio Petri Italy
The Mattei Affair § Il caso Mattei Francesco Rosi Italy
1973 The Hireling Alan Bridges United Kingdom
Scarecrow Jerry Schatzberg United States
1974 The Conversation Francis Ford Coppola United States
1975 Chronicle of the Years of Fire Chronique des années de braise Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina Algeria
1976 Taxi Driver Martin Scorsese United States
1977 Padre Padrone Paolo and Vittorio Taviani Italy
1978 The Tree of Wooden Clogs § L'albero degli zoccoli Ermanno Olmi Italy
1979 Apocalypse Now Francis Ford Coppola United States
The Tin Drum Die Blechtrommel Volker Schlöndorff West Germany
I haven't seen most of them, from what i've seen The Tin Drum, MASH, and Taxi Driver don't hold a candle to the better films from this decade. I'll give you Apocalypse Now and The Conversation though, they're incredible films. Cassavetes really got shafted didn't he, geeze.
The 2010's will be known as the Marvel Decade.
Nothing of true remembrance was made.
ANOTHER DECADE GONE TERRIBLY WRONG
EFFECTIVELY AFFECTING GENERATIONS TO COME
WE ONLY BUY INTO WHAT WE CAN SELL
WE ONLY WANT TO PROTECT YOU FROM YOURSELF
>The 2010's will be known as the Marvel Decade.
The sad thing is is that this is true.
Tree Of Life > Amour > Uncle Boonmee > Shoplifters > The Square > Winter Sleep >> Blue Is >>> I, Daniel Blake
haven’t seen Dheepan and Parasite. I agree it’s a pretty great bunch of films
Midsommar
god it must be suffering enjoying arthouse films and also being a conservative dumbcunt
its going to get worse
how so
lol
This
CHYNA
The theme for The Artist is the best score I've heard from any movie in the last 10 years. Seriously underrated and underappreciated because people just getting triggered by the silent gimmick.
Generally, there has been a massive downturn on American media quality. Films, music and games. Probably literature too, but I am still going through The Greeks so I wouldn't know.
Capeshit effect infects everything now. Thanks capeshitters.
Put up or shut up faggot. What is better? A wojak is not a response, merely a reply.
That one was pretty alright tho.

if you avoid all the nostalgia milking of older franchises from the 80s and 90s it's not so bad
Just compare any year in the 2010s to any in the 50s,60s,70s,40s etc
most of the stuff you posted is Mcdonald's arthouse for middlebrow plebs
>In 2007, the race for best picture was between There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men
>In 2018, it was a race between Green Book and Roma
This is without question the worst decade for film, and I truly wonder if it'll get worse
There Will Be Blood isn't anything special
I pity your existence.
the 2010s are ten times better than the majority of the utterly cheesy straight to TV tier flicks of the 90s
Checked for truth, it was disposable but nice. It's really hard to think of anything close to great from this decade.
name any year from the 90s and I will give you a list of pure unadulterated kino
Saving Private Ryan is a utterly cheesy straight to TV tier flick?
I wonder, when was the last time an American films was one of the best that year?

It's good, but nothing out of the extraordinary.
2007 no doubt
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
Zodiac
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Best year of 10s was probably 2011. So let's look at 40 years earlier, 1971.
>Midnight In Paris
>Warrior
>Drive
>The Tree of Life
>The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
>Ghost Protocol
>Melancholia
>A Clockwork Orange
>The French Connection
>Once Upon A Time... the Revolution
>Dirty Harry
>The Last Picture Show
>Death in Venice
>Le Mans
>Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
>Get Carter
>Two-Lane Blacktop
>Nicholas & Alexandra
>Carnal Knowledge
>Sunday Bloody Sunday
>McCabe & Mrs Millers
>Vanishing Point
Thoughts?
this, none of those hold a candle to the best of the past. they'd be also rans or cult favourites at absolute best.
>>Ghost Protocol
This is the best you can do for 2011?
for 2011 add The Raid, Source Code, Limitless and Johnny English Reborn (ironically)
What else?
pic not related I guess
remove Dirty Harry, it sucks
>>remove Dirty Harry, it sucks
What's it like being a cuck commie?
Whiplash & Birdman were good too
remove it, it's boring and there are hundreds of better action movies I would rather watch
Hard to be a God is basically a Zulawski film but done even better
The more time goes by the more directors and studios make movies for less and less sophisticated audiences, younger viewers, blacker viewers, more foreign viewers (like the Chinese), and dumb people. The more this goes on the more the formulas become optimised, the more you're always watching the same thing. Cinema is between the stages of maturity and terminal decline.
Zulawski is a meme.
...
More classic films were made in 2007 than in the entirety of this decade. It’s been really shit.
I was born in 1981, learn how to debate without stale memes
shoo shoo Hollywood product consumer
2007 has one definite classic and a couple of more debatable ones
The strongest year of this decade was 2013.
Bad films/art were always the majority of produced media, you all just think of the past like all the great films happened in a single year
I'm a quality over quantity guy, personally
No, there's only one valid opinion and that opinion is 2012
That's really saying something considering how shit 2007 was.
Terayama, Parajanov, Sjöström, Fellini, Bergman are great filmmakers. Zulawski is Marilyn Manson.
Try zero.
>Terayama, Parajanov, Sjöström, Fellini, Bergman are great filmmakers.
They're boring arthouse movies for europeans and other low t individuals
fuck Parajanov and Fellini tbqhwy
ameritards are just leftover immigrant euros
Well at least it started with one of the greatest movies ever getting released in 2010.
Plenty of gems. You just have to look for them. The industry has been bigger than ever.
And this is why we are where we are.
name them
be warned that I will not tolerate Mcdonald's arthouse bullshit
sorry but the European films industry has always been pretty shit
if these were the 70s and I now posted a Tarkovsky film you would make the same exact "uhmmm it's le mcdonalds arthouse" brainfart
@118726993
1/10 low effort bait
hahahaha you can't even think of any
hahahaha I am a 12 year old aswell
>industry
Nice try Mickey.
I love Tarkovsky but he definitely made some gay commercial crap like Solaris.
Please leave this site as it is 18+, thanks.
I'm 26 years old and a connoisseur of the finest kino available, thank you very much

The Artist is one of my favorite films of the decade but I doubt Yea Forums knows about John Gilbert or Roman Novarro so they just didn't get it.

I bet you're some middlebrow nigga who thinks shit like Zodiac and There Will be Blood and The Fucking Social Network are great movies lmao
This was actually good but the rlm sóyim weren't having it.
The Grand Budapest Hotel is the most soi flick in cinema history
The Assassination of Jesse James is bad? Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is bad? Eastern Promises? No Country for Old Men?
I guarantee you most of the people complaining have never seen it.
>The Assassination of Jesse James is bad?
boring nu-western, only becomes interesting when the thing in the title happens (at the end)
>Before the Devil Knows You're Dead is bad?
It's okay
>Eastern Promises
It sucks, Cronenberg has never made a good film
>No Country for Old Men?
It's the only really great movie of 2007

>I only like movies where I can self-insert as the protagonist!
not him but I agree. there hasn't been any classic action movie this decade. the 2000s weren't too hot either. MI2, MI4 (the one in Dubai), MI5 maybe. it's really just Tom Cruise who is left making real action movies. everyone else is prancing around in front of green screens, running away from imaginary monsters, imaginary tsunamis, sharknados, it's all just CGI shitfests. when I think of "action movies" I think of Lethal Weapon, Arnold and old Bonds. those kinds of movies don't exist any more. Mel and Arnold are too old, Bond got replaced with Jason Bourne permanently, Mission Impossible is all we have left.
now to address the elephant in the room: I saw John Wick and I like Keanu - not impressed. "My bad". But Point Break, Speed, The Matrix and now.... this dude massacring low-lives in a night club or whatever?? It's a cliche assassin guy shooting goons from close range and maybe driving a vehicle once a movie. The blood is CGI, a lot of the action is barely visible because it's all filmed in the dark, camera and editing have that typical post-Bourne style where most of the effort goes into hiding what's going on rather than showing it. John Wick is servicable, watchable, nothing more. It's a B movie with better than expected fight choreography. didn't bother with the sequels.
>the wolf of wall street
>once upon a time in hollywood
memes
>pain & gain
psychopaths being glorified
Favorite of the 2010s - Er ist Wieder Da, Silence, Twin Peaks: the Return, Young Karl Marx, the Artist, the Human Voice, Trotsky
Overall it has been a very weak decade.
who are you quoting
Mission Impossible is painfully average as a franchise
your mother when I fucked her ass
zoom zoom
compared to past decades in action kino, sure. compared to the other shit that came out since 2000? far above average, the pinnacle in fact.
zoomers were the target audience for all three of those flicks, retard.
I know some better action movies
zoooooooommmmmmm

No it's subjectively good faggot
The Artist wasn’t bad at all. Kind of a cool movie.
Most people here haven't actually seen it.
Blue is the warmest colour at least was sexy and memorable.
I, Daniel Blake had a pretty significant impact, people still talk about it a fair bit in the Norf, but it was a terrible film.
>four years later
>incels are still triggered by feminist click bait articles about a fucking mad max movie
that's gonna be a yikes from me
Summer fag
These kind of threads are always filled with anons who think they're not charlatans
