Instead of making the Seven all rapists, they each get their own quirks and flaws. Making Butcher a burnout who plays things by ear instead of a grinning smug asshole who always gets his way while making Starlight a genuinely good person instead of just a christfag stereotype were all good touches and helps the world feel more alive. Homelander also has crazy issues but instead of making him a complete psycho they give him more motivations.

There's tons of little discrepancies like that that make no sense whatsoever. The CIA finds out about compound V yet doesn't have an interest in developing their own supes despite being the fucking CIA, Mother's Milk is still called Mother's Milk despite not having powers so why the fuck is he even called Mother's Milk? Making Homelander the mastermind and not afraid of Stillwell means there's no reason he isn't already ruling the world, the supes are already working with the cops and fighting (mostly staged) crime so the whole, "No Supes in service roles," makes no sense, either the money men forced a bunch of changes late in production or the writers are just fucking retarded. Cutting the Legend at least makes sense since Stan Lee died and they'd get a ton of backlash from including him, everything else is just dumb.

The Supes being cartoonish is the point. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Christ, you're just awful, user. The reason for the first investigation is irrelevent for the second. We can infer that it has something to do with the supes all being massive shitters given that they are pretty much all massive shitters. The show, however, is about the current, second, unsanctioned investigation and so we don't need to know literally every single detail of the past to understand why they are continuing the investigation now.

We can only guess at what happened in the first investigation. Given that the Boys only now found out about Compound V and have no blackmail on any big Supes, it seems like they did the square root of fuck-all.

Pick a story and stick to it. We know why the Boys are investigating, Hughie wants A-Train, Butcher wants Homelander, we're talking about the CIA's involvement here. If you're to meaningfully participate in this discussion have the courtesy to actually fucking follow it, moron.
