I find him to be better than Charlie Chaplin.

He's to charlie chaplin what oswald the rabbit was to Mickey mouse

One of the best silent directors. I think his films are better than Chaplin's overall, but Chaplin has a few bits that make laugh harder than anything Keaton's done

keaton was Yea Forums while chaplin was reddit
of course the latter was way popular, with his inspirational speech and all

Tom Cruise is a pussy compared to Keaton

best batman

For me? It's The General.

Chaplin>Lloyd>Keaton
There’s a reason the first two did way better than him at the box office. Overrated glorified stuntman who didn’t even direct most of his films.

you truly have no idea what you're talking about

Max Linder was more Yea Forums. He used lots of poop humor and crass jokes and played an upper class guy while chaplin played a low class left wing character.

Imagine being this much of a pleb

Lloyd was also a stuntman so your point is moot.

Chaplin is only well-known today because someone else made his mustache iconic. Buster is easily the best out of all of them.

For me, it's Sherlock Jr.

Charley Bowers > everyone else

Chaplin was a brilliant filmmaker who CREATED masterpieces both of the silent and sound cinema
Keaton was some stoic drunkard cunt who only acted and made a comparatively poor transition to sound

A genius in every way. Seven Chances, The General, Sherlock Jr, The Paleface, One Week, The Camera Man and The Blacksmith are his best works.

Max Linder was the first
Everyone else was a shitty copy of his works

That’s why he’s below Chaplin.

Okay, best silent and early comedians that are not the top three.

Laurel and Hardy>>> Max Linder>>> Charley Chase >>>>>Harry Langdon >>>>>>Pitts and Todd/ Todd and Kelly

>Buster Keaton
>only acted
A simple google search to verify your info would've kept you from looking like an idiot

it's literally the opposite, tho. everyone tried to forget him because he had a toothbrush mustache like el big baddo. his great dictator speech is pretty good even if it is quite bluepilled.

Do you not find it a little bit strange that all of his films share a directing credit with someone else, you fucking retard? Chaplin directed (alone), wrote, edited, composed, produced his films. FUCK Keaton and fuck you.

Stan and Ollie are better than the top three and Way Out West is legit the funniest movie ever made.

Honestly I think the film would be much better if he had the mustache while playing Sherlock Jr.

Get me pictures

He smiles in Coney Island (1917) when Fatty Arbuckle fails massively at one of the carnival attractions.

where does Ben Turpin fit in?

This and I love Tom Cruise

Sherlock Jr>>general

Chaplin = didactic, maudlin, jealous of Stan and Ollie, creepy old man who chased young girls, communist, literally everything wrong with Hollywood
Keaton = honest, diligent entertainer with no fear and, with Sherlock Jr., created an artistic masterpiece that transcended the genre
Lloyd = great entertainer whose stunts and chases are up there with the best of Keaton's. Lost two fingers just to make the world laugh
Stan & Ollie = lovable goofs who played to the lowest common denominator better than anyone
