that's what I wonder. T1 and T2 were really good and art. But everything since has been hot garbage and this one will be the same because they just retcon the shit out of everything.

T2 was supposed to be 1985, not 1991, John would have been 7 years old in 1991. So he even fucked up on that.
T3 was bad but at least its plot was plausible and followed the events of T2, with the Terminator being dead and Skynet coming out of AI software rather than neural net processors since neural net processor research was all destroyed in 1995. Although it was still stupid for destroying the central theme of T1 and T2, no fate.. making John and Katie Brewster's getting married inevitable as was Judgement Day... but at least how they got there all made sense.

It's retconning its own shit, I hate when what I considered good directors like Ridley Scott and James Cameron show themselves to be hacks who can't even keep continuity in their OWN films much less other films in franchises they started directed by others. I can understand retconning anything not directed by yourself but Alien Covenant wasn't consistent with Alien and this won't keep continuity with T1-T2.

It's shit. Just like the other 2 direct sequels to judgement day were.

they should have just left it alone after T2. There was no reason to keep a franchise going. They had an artistic view and a good ending for that view. They were Kino. Everything else has been bad.
Salvation was the only one with real potential being a "prequel" of sorts from the original timeline before any time travel was involved and they fucked that up.
