Once and for all. Who was smarter bros? I'm curious what Yea Forums thinks.
Also don't just say Light for the edginess. And don't just say L for the :3 he cute mémés

how the feed did he lose

cringe
cringe.... yet somehow based

>weebcels trying to get in on the Yea Forums action
You have your containment board like the ponyfags do. Go back.

Attached: mfwRAHOWAgunfire.jpg (1200x900, 248K)

he delegated his job to an idiot

if you want shit done and you are the only one doing it right, do it just yourself

he took the bait and killed fake L

they were kind of equals, L just didnt figured out all the pieces in time (if you think about it, L started behind and got really close to Light tho)

author didnt wanted a villain to win, so he killed him off

Anime is fucking garbage

Usually yes but not this one.

The whole show was convoluted in the first place. How was L close to tracking him down with nothing to work with?

he baited him hard since the start

Id take things weebs say about their favorite anime for 50 alex

Are you implying this board has standards or something?

There would be nothing to lose if he didn't indulge L. He should have just kept killing his criminals until the very end.

did you watch the first few episodes? he was retarded

Stupid plot device where someone can copy an entire book of someone else's handwriting in one night and not have that person notice

Because his whole investigation was based on
>consider the following
>your hubris will make you retarded

Bad writing. In story one his subordinates fucked things up for him by not following exact orders..

It's been over a decade since I watched it, but I remember L has that typical anime omegabrain and you are just supposed to imagine that his brain is galaxy size and therefor he knows thing he never in a trillion years would be able to deduce.

L was smarter but the odds were so stacked against him he couldn't win.

I haven't seen this shitty show in decade or so. So Light would have not died had he not made himself known in the first place as kira?

>and not have that person notice
Because Near manipulated Mikami with the Death Note. Read the manga. The second arc and the ending are completely different.

Being a detective is harder than being a criminal with god-like powers

The trick with the televised fake L playing at different times across the world, plus Kira’s kill schedule aligning with the average Japanese students

This PLUS the info that only the jap police had was being used, so L knew it was someone connected to the force

>L’s job was to stop Light
>Lights job was to not get caught
>Light does due to L’s actions

L was definitely smarter and it’s not even close

Retard didnt do the eye deal

*dies

because Near cheated

Writer got exhausted and stopped giving a shit

I loved his voice

He only used outside help and had a plan that's not more unfair than having powers of life and death and multiple followers with the same power and more dedication.

He was an arrogant prick who was delusional enough to think he could be a God. He was also a fucking psychopath who only cared about himself.

That was so stupid, does L earnestly believe that if he broadcast in different countries at different times there would be no communication between countries, or even the towns within countries? What is international tv? What is internet? What is international phone calls? What is phone calls in general? He started in Kanto, whose to say Kira might have been living in let’s say Kansai and would have gotten the news of the Kanto broadcast due to the simple fact that he has an internet connection. Does the president of the US need to travel across the country to make an address because people in California are unable to watch broadcasts coming out of DC? So retarded

Well he did say he got lucky and got Kira on his first try, plus he may have used a different convict for each region he broadcasted.

Did you ever hear a saying along the lines of "the bad guy has to win every time, the good guy only has to win once".

If L fails to catch Light he just tries again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.

L outsmarted Light several times but the reverse never happened. Light managed to slip his way out of capture simply by having a material advantage.

L figured him out instantly but wasn't able to convinct him since he didn't know what the murder weapon was and had no way of providing evidence

Exactly. L would have almost nothing on him if he didn't kill investigators.

i would argue that not being arrested is a win for light. sure L knew from the start it was light, but same could be said for a ton of criminals. light didnt get caught

But in this case, L had to avoid being killed too. After L died, Light went for years basically unopposed.

why didnt he just never go outside and only write peoples names in secrecy, never telling anyone

he used the deathnote!

Came here to post this.

I thought the show didn't go far enough with this concept. L tried to get Light caught with wordplay and other very subtle tactics, but in the eyes of a jury none of that stuff would prove Light's guilt. The accusation is that he has literal god powers; how do you prove that beyond a reasonable doubt?

The bad guy had to lose, even if the bad guy was the protagonist. So the writer went out of his way to do it
Death Note ended with L's death to me

Attached: 1478916136728.jpg (281x325, 14K)

He didn't because the show ended right after L died. Nothing happened after that.

This.
Author wanted to end it with Ls death but they paid him a boatload of money to write a second part.
Ending it with Ls death is my head cannon for it.

He was a faggot

yeah, i mean i thought that was the point. the show made it clear that l knew it was light ALMOST entirely from the beginning, but the whole proving it ended up being difficult. cant just accuse a nigga of having instakill powers without proof. l was a little bitch who didnt understand the time value of solving this shit fast. nigga too slow

>The accusation is that he has literal god powers; how do you prove that beyond a reasonable doubt?
You need to understand how big was L reputation and influence. If L said to the government that X person was Kira, they would have arrested/killed that person in the spot.
In fact, Near said that, if he wanted, he could have light killed by the FBI and close the case, but he didn't because it was "beneath" L successor.

well that just sounds like cheating

He got cocky and couldn't contain his big ego aside

The simple fact is the trick only works once and only works if it is initially broadcast where Kira is located. So props to L for deducing that, but if he was unlucky and Kira turned out to be living in another region the trick wouldn’t work because by the time the broadcast is played for a second time in the next region everyone in the world would have known about the fake L ploy. It’s a ridiculously high gamble, way too high actually

>have one chance to kill a suspect of mass murder by the government
>if you are wrong all your credibility and reputation would be destroyed for killing an innocent person

>can kill anyone by knowing their face and name
>can control time and date of their deaths
>can control the nature of their deaths
>can even control them before their death

Tell me, who is cheating? also, the fact that they could "cheat" but they didn't prove that light was inferior.
