I liked the part with Galadriel's feet.

Also gay and haven't watched them

It should have been named The Red Book of Westmarch, Lord of the Rings is a stupid name.

Video game tier cloakshit.

It's not for me. I can appreciate it, because it was a monumental achievement, but I'm not into dragons and elves and midget and trolls and wizards.

I like spaceships and lazers and cool tech.

Best trilogy of all time, best adaptation of a fantasy of all time, best score of all time, excellent actors and a compelling story
Faggots and betas like to trash it but they were a commercial and total critical success

>pic related have no development
>gollum is literally jar-jar tier 99% of the time
>moments of dumb humor randomly forced in
it's good but not that great

you could say that it bows to no movie.

So is the same capeshit every year, nerd.

I love it so much I want to have sex with my box set. Is that what you wanted to hear?

The best scene in the entire trilogy right here.

No
Capeshit just makes money, the only people who actually think they're genuinely good movies are image familiar

The trilogy won 17 oscars

Is that really an accomplishment when fucking Black Panther got nominated for a shitload of those?

The first film was kino. The second was good, but in my opinion, here it started to become too centered around battles. By the third it feels like we’re just bouncing from one large battle choreography to the next without much in between. Plain action, where the first had the most suspense. I still think this is a great trilogy, but I think they really had something special with 1, and it slowly turned into generic Middle Ages fantasy battle movie by the end of the 3rd
They also butchered the death of the witchking, making it look as if he was killed because he misused pronouns, instead being made mortal by a westernesse blade - but they would have had to include bombadil in the 1st film to rectify that, so I understand why they just said fuck it

Unironically? It was a different time.
Awards for films are meaning less and less. Black panther deserves nothing, and shouldn't EVER be compared to the genuine effort, care, and hard work that went into the lord of the rings.

Good but massively overrated.

There are so many scenes that make me tear up, especially the journey to the Grey Havens: youtube.com/watch?v=qTstBMkeAH8 It really is a depiction of what true friendship is.

>Unironically? It was a different time.
Yeah, back then they just gave oscars to whichever movie Harvey Weinstein produced rather than to the most "woke" movie

Return of the King is pretty shit

>true friendship
>abanonding your best friend

Best game here. Fight me irl

It didn't win, and you can't deny the world is legitimately a different place than it was in the early 2000s

each lotr was the most well made movie of their years, and each award was earned. You cannot deny this.

I'm not a huge fan of the action scenes, like I get it was just a flex of what you could do at the time but the stupid dynasty warriors fights kind of undermine the theme of constantly being fucked and against all odds.

However I think it does a good job of the adventure seeming like an uphill battle where the odds get thinner by the second, and I am kind of glad certain things were changed for the movies to keep it 'cinematic', and I think the character drama is really solid throughout with great acting.

Fantastic movies still and have aged like Wine, except the troll in the Mines of Moria. It just looks like shit.

>that fucking power flex from the balrog
