Just finished all eight episodes.
The editing seems choppy/rushed at parts in the later episodes, except for the very end.
I feel like it handles things a lot better than the comic did, in terms of trimming some of the overly-edginess where the comic tried too hard constantly which made it get old, doled out in much more impactful/memorable doses in tv version.
Big problem is that the 'main' characters, the boys, are way less interesting in TV version. Though most of the hedonistic/villainous heroes like Homelander (in particular) are more three-dimensional and get more face time than in comic, which is nice. They really should have kept the Boys as powered instead of just power anti-power guys, Butcher is particularly boring and gets old fast.
I really liked it but you touch on my only actual issue with the show: the boys aren't interesting. Butcher is because he gets to chew the scenery and has the flashy role, but the French guy and the black guy are useless and the super powered Asian girl is literally just a maguffin. The main guy is.. okay, but more of just a vessel for the story. All the interesting stuff is with the 7

So far, it's possible that you think it's good if you don't know shit about the comic. But basically to me, they've tried to work the original story into a prequel of itself. I'm not really enjoying it that much. I don't know why tv writers seem to constantly miss the point of characters and major plot points when rewriting something.
