Looks like something you will buy but will never watch.

The other side has the synopsis I think. I'm gonna wait until there are better scans of that I'm curious if they got something wrong.
Michael Thomas
He's right though. Most physical releases are a clusterfuck
Benjamin Ross
Some of these films have degraded to the point that they've had an acid pink hue on them. It's actually kinda crazy how this happened, considering no one else seemed to be interested.
Stupid question but they're ALL going to be dual audio right?
Jace Lewis
Kinda fucks my wallet but it looks amazing
Angel Carter
do they release all of their stuff for region B as well? This looks like some kind of special edition which might not. saw that they link to amazon for the uk stuff but obviously its not listed there (yet?)
Bentley Johnson
Criterions are locked. They have licensing issues, and most countries don't want reverse imports. Toho actually specifically meddled with US distributed releases because of fear of reverse imports.
It's actually uncommon for criterions to even have dubs. It's more like all of them are in their original language, and only a few have English dubs and they're usually only added because they're significant to the film (e.g. Godzilla and Jackie Chan's Police Story
Check their site. I know of the region B UK site, but not familiar with it outside of that.
Oh yeah he loves it when a long series gets released in one package. Something he complained about talking about Hammer.
Angel Mitchell
>Check their site. I know of the region B UK site, but not familiar with it outside of that. Guess I have to pray
Luis Wilson
These movies are classics you dumb faggot. It's good to see Hollywood actually preserving something for once instead of shoveling out more Disney slop.
Owen Wright
I hope this implies they follow up with Heisei and Millienium sets at some point.
They're new enough. We can wait but I think my copies of heisei are the worst overall compared to other series. The 90s wear and tear.
Evan Walker
Mothra is in the movie too, guys. Also I guess Ebirah, Horror of the Deep is back into being the official English translation of the title not Godzilla vs. Sea Monster. Now let's see if it's Godzilla's Revenge or All Monsters Attack.
Already preordered it even though I don't care for most of the box art. King Kong vs Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, and Godzilla vs Gigan got the best art, IMO.
Looks great, I'll probably wait until the November Barnes and Noble sale to get it for $112 though. Anything I should get during the current sale (got a $50 gift card and was looking at that John Cassevetes set)?
Evan Anderson
Not a fan of the new Terror of Mechagodzilla cover art.
Yeah the artist should have done either this moment or the kino handshake. At least the Invasion of Astro Monster art includes the dance, even though the art is shit. I would have definitely included the Controller of Planet X and Miss Namikawa in the art for that one, and the Shobijin for Mothra vs Godzilla.
Yeah it's really fucking obvious that these are the only two covers drawn by Japanese artists, because they actually take the subject matter seriously. Most of the rest of it is hideous neon hipster bullshit that belongs on the Google homepage.
Yeah I would have included cyborg waifu Katsura in some way. It seems like most of the artists just looked up each movie's monster battle on YouTube and just went from there, rather than actually taking the entirety of each movie into account when designing their box art.
>new illustrations by Arthur Adams, Sophie Campbell, Becky Cloonan, Jorge Coelho, Geof Darrow, Simon Gane, Robert Goodin, Benjamin Marra, Monarobot, Takashi Okazaki, Angela Rizza, Yuko Shimizu, Bill Sienkiewicz, Katsuya Terada, Ronald Wimberly, and Chris Wisnia
I do not care for Godzilla but this looks like a nice set. Though I would assume the quality really does not matter, you would know if you are getting this or not already.
I mean yeah I'm getting it, but I hope they did a good job with the audio, subtitles, and cleaned up some of the blemishes that you can see if you watch the Japanese bluray rips online. The bluscreening of the Shobijin looks hideous in the Japanese bluray of Mothra vs Godzilla.
He's kinda got the Kirby dots and Kirby people but Jack Kirby could draw a hell of a lot better than that.
Hunter Green
Y'know I'm looking forward to this collection but they really could've skipped All Monsters Attack.
Charles Sanchez
I think Sony/Tristar still holds the USA distribution rights to most of those movies with the notable exceptions of Godzilla 1984, Godzilla vs Biollante, and Godzilla 2000 Millennium. The double-feature blurays they have printed are cheap, but absolutely barebones.
Oliver Turner
People who say yaaaaasss refuse to watch anything made before 1990 you faggot.
Samuel Nguyen
The good thing about it is that it's an optional movie since it's not even canon in-universe.
Nicholas Morris
>cheap Yeah no look up how went into making the monster costumes back in the day.
Eli Diaz
Which company are you secretly shilling for?
Levi Morris
>WATASHI NO SHIIISAAA SHIIISAAA SHIIISAAA KIIINGU SHIIIISAAAA
Cooper Turner
God Fucking Dammit. I was just thinking I should really pick up a blu ray player and start a physical collection, and then the very next video talks about pic related and I'd go broke if I started buying all this shit.
To me this is still the wackiest American poster >green Ghidorah >Gorosaurus looks like Yongary >Mothra larva looks like The Monster that Challenged the World >brown Kumonga with antennae It just gets worse the longer you look at it.
i havent seen a single godzilla film. watching all these movies in order is a good way to start or are there any other important ones missing from the boxset?
Jace Lee
It only has the first Showa series from 1954 to 1975. We are currently on the fourth series. The first series varies in tone and quality depending on the decade (dark in the 50s, more optimistic in the 60s and kinda cheap in the 70s when the Japanese movie industry was in terrible shape) but it's in the same continuity. There are many more monster movies that are also set in this universe but for simplicity sake we usually focus only on those starring Godzilla.
There's a lot of good ones in the Heisei and Millenium eras too though I'd say you should start out watching the original 1954 film first (the sequels are much campier).
Lincoln Sanders
Better be the 6 hour cut of Love Exposure
Connor Perez
godzilla is one of those things that you either with it or not with it. I'd suggest catching one of the movies for free or cheap instead of going for the boxset first
Noah Thompson
This is nuts to soup Godzilla movies 1-15.
Luis Jenkins
Universal probably insisted the dub be the main version offered
