What makes Crank good is pretty fucking simple.
When you go see an actual movie, not some fast food slop that Disney shits out, you get emotions. Moreover, a good movie is one that makes you feel something afterwards and sticks with you for a while. Not just a constant stream of over produced garbage that's intended to sell comics or tickets to a new Disneyland extension that merely titillates you and the dopamine wears off.
This is where Crank excels, in a non-stop adrenaline rush, with increasingly over the top insanity. Yes, plenty of other movies go a mile a minute and are insane. But few do it in such a way that Crank does. It's complete ultra-violence and over the top vulgarity in an otherwise normal society.
Crank ends up a cathartic movie, a small glimpse of the insanity that lies under each and everyone of our masks. You're a fucking pleb if you don't want to indulge your shadow
