They fantasize about killing their neighbors/kids

Who doesn't nowadays?

Because the premise is admittedly interesting. It’s just poorly written/executed, but normies don’t care about the finer aspects of film.

Normal people have no empathy and live only to satiate their desires, no matter how twisted. It speaks to how they truly think.

They skip the pretense used in zombie movies, going straight to kill who they hate.

You sound like the kind of person who thinks violent video games will make kids want to shoot up a school. Normal people have the ability separate fantasy from reality.

It's a big budget tv episode so their brains are on comfortable ground.

The lack of rave war in these films is hilarious

Not him, but the point is that this is a human trait across all time and places, has nothing to do with vidya or movies. We are animals.

dumbest premise ever

because people are retarded and think it's realistic in any way. if there really was a 24 period of no crimes, people wouldn't suddenly turn into sociopathic murderers.

Nah, I think humans are predisposed to violence. That's not a learned behavior.

>if there really was a 24 period of no crimes
I would probably declare 0 income and evade taxes

election year is probably the worst film i've ever seen

this, where are the glow sticks and acid

The first was bad, the second one was decent, third was funny and fourth was boring as hell. Although the fourth one did show that yeah if this happened in real life, people wouldn’t just suddenly go on murder sprees. They’d get drunk and high and party or rob shit.

That’s a overly-simplistic take on humanity. Humans also have a natural urge to work together and help each other even if there’s no apperent benefit to doing so. They have done tests with this comparing the behavior of kids against adolescent chimps in various situations, and kids show an inherent desire to lend assistance to adults without being prompted to do so while chimps need the promise of a reward to perform helpful tasks.

I'd stock up on a fuckload of drugs since I'm sure drug dealers would be able to publicly advertise themselves

This, same with limitless. People like it because they're retarded.

Day of the dubstep soon

how much rape is there in these movies?

like 1 scene

your taxes wouldn't get accepted and put into whatever system the IRS uses within a 24 hour period, especially with everyone else trying to do it. you'd be fucked once they get around to your tax form(s) a week or three later.

I would.

Whats the best viewing order of these? Where does the TV show fit in?

>Whats the best viewing order of these
not watching them

That's right

unironically this
Americans are wolves dressed as Chinese made sheep. they pretend to be good loving friendly citizens but deep down they're psychopaths itching to spill blood. that's why they love guns so much. they all secretly want to kill someone and be justified in doing it.

>they all secretly want to kill someone and be justified in doing it
That's literally everyone. Stop projecting and generalizing bigot

>Because the premise is admittedly interesting
I agree. When my friend told me about the concept of the movie, I was really interested. The start of the movie sets it up pretty well, but then it turns into normie family stuck in a house with rich psycho wypepo. YAWN

>all crime is legal
>everyone just wants to KILL KILL KILL

Anarchy was pretty good, though. A solid thriller.

>Normal people have no empathy and live only to satiate their desires
You clearly haven't been around normal people

idk why do you?

they do? might be a american thing

>fuck borders and shiiet

>here's 10 photos of immigrants that will make you so sad you'll shit your pants

the purge series is a great satirical look at america. I love them.

>if there really was a 24 period of no crimes, people wouldn't suddenly turn into sociopathic murderers.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh man, thanks for this, user. I really wish I could live in your beautiful fantasy land of happiness and joy.

Amazing concept executed poorly

The first film is interesting only because of the premise really
Second one was only memorable because of the operater guy making it semi-fun to watch
who would waste their time with the rest

Yeah, the first movie doesn't explore the concept very well. Like you say, it's just a home invasion movie and we don't get to see much of what's going on anywhere else.

Second movie is much better because it takes place in the city and focuses on some people who didn't make it home in time and just want to survive the night. Only thing that bothers me is why would anyone be out on that day and risk something like that, but other than that, it's a pretty entertaining movie.

This is the only original horror at the moment like it or not. In an era where“Muh artsy fartsy suspense better than jumpscares soi films” and “le haunted house with creepy girl” movies are the only horrors that are in theatres, Purge seems to be the only interesting horror and a breath of fresh air.

nah that mentality is burrowed deep into the American culture. you won't find it many places in Europe dumbo. there are plenty of small villages with ordinary folk (yes ordinary, Americans are definitely not normal) that go about their lives thinking only peaceful thoughts.

and this is why you are being conquered by muslims

>fake empathy for people they care nothing for to make political opponents upset
Oh no... you got me!

sort of right. we need some of that righteousness people like Texans have. good old American fighting spirit to kick out these parasites.

the second one was good

watch the first 2 and stop.
you could probably even skip the first one

Probably the same people who watch Annabelle, blacks and Mexicans.

first one was kino cause it had Ethan Hawke in it

Limitless is kino

First one was pretty meh and I wondered why it had Ethan Hawke in it...

>tfw this shit got 4 movies and a TV series while Sinister will never get a 3rd movie

Definitely less people nowadays than 50 years ago.

Modern society is a pressure cooker. The twin evils of capitalism and statism are what causes it.

>The twin evils of capitalism and statism

If you don't think these things are evil you're insane.

The Purge Anarchy is the best spiritual successor to Escape From New York ever made.

Reminder that the average anarcho-communist couldn't survive a day doing manual labor, let alone become self-sufficient. Fuck off larper.

I think you're a retarded Cult Marxist

these movies would be so much better if they dropped the politics and uped the gore to 70s and 80s slasher levels

Attached: tumblr_pdoxg7opOz1s1v3r1o1_540.gif (540x293, 3M)

Some anons mentioned in a past Purge thread about an idea of someone planning revenge for the next Purge night, assuming someone close to them was murdered or something was stolen. Could be a kino premise

>source: my asshole

>UGG-UGG-OOGOO!

Attached: 4c9.png (645x729, 113K)

because they're dumb fun movies with lots of action and an interesting premise.

>Practical effects.
>2019.
Not gonna happen outside of passion projects, sorry bud.

Post your hands.

Cringe, eat shit and die inbred piss gargling cum guzzling commie subhuman

because horror movies being political is a completely new trend that never existed in the 70's and 80's

yeah thats why its so fucking rare for good horror now

No.

>MUG-DUG-UGG-UGG-UGG!

Attached: ce8.png (621x702, 56K)

Only a tiny minority of horror films were about some social, political or psychological statement. Now even the B grade trash feels it needs to be about that.

Its interesting to talk to somebody who hasn't seen a movie made before 2004.

>No.
Thought so. Have fun bitching about the Man at your barista job Kevin, I'm sure that english arts degree will take you somewhere, someday.

I know why cant my horror be non political like the favorite classics of my youth. You know Videodrome, Dawn of the Dead, The Howling or Invasion of the body snatchers. true non political B horror am I right.

>mobile layout
fuck off phoneposter

purge anarchy main character had virtually same backstory as jeff from saw 3 where he wanted to kill the dude who ran over his kid but he forgave him cause they were too afraid to have the main charterer have a major flaw and had to make him a full on good guy
m8 i just like horror movies and im just dissapointed the way they are turning out just remakes and afraid to show scary shit

If you like horror you better get used to some political subtext because that's been the genera since Ramiro popularized it in 69

Enjoy what? I'm not talking about workers revolutions back in the 30s when commies were still men. I'm talking about pencil neck fags like yourself fantasizing about starting a stateless communist nation when you can't even change and tire and your granddad shipped all the vital manufacturing jobs overseas to fill your trust fund.

>dude what if crime was legal
>amazing concept

>Enjoy what? I'm not talking about workers revolutions back in the 30s when commies were still men.
>hurr durr I'm not talking about practical implementations of the political philosophy we're discussing
Great, then you're a idiot.

I didn't bother reading the rest of your post, by the way, and won't read any other replies you make to me, so don't bother.

Eh those are ok, but personally I prefer more politically minded classics like the thing, evil dead, texas chainsaw massacre, alien, jaws, hellraiser... you know, stuff that isn't just dumb jump scares and gore and stuff, you know?

rofl, whatever retard. Enjoy your angst about a revolution that will never, ever happen.

The first movie was decently well done. A family trapped in their home as people try to invade and kill them. It also hooked you and got you interested in the bigger world this premise took place in to get you to watch the next movie or two and then it becomes sunk cost and seeing this ride to the end.

I wouldn't call Alien Jaws or Hellraiser B movies at all which is why they were not mentioned in my list of political B movies of which the previous poster said was a new trend.

I didn't like the second because they focused too much on white, rich people being unemphatic villains while the victims are usually poor or homeless black and brown people. The rich never have to worry about the Purge, and can pay to buy poor minorities to kill within the safety of their mansions. Even the rebel group were all black and brown people.

I would try to rob some places for extra cash. And that would probably require me to arm myself since shop owners likely have guns and competing robbers. So now I have to start mowing down people for $500 in the local 7/11 register. By the next year I've probably got ptsd to the point I'm crazy and that one faggot coworker keeps asking me what I did over the weekend every Monday when that mother fucker knows I don't do shit or go out and I swear he's smugly laughing at me for being a loser well we'll so who the fucking loser is now Jake! How about I burn your fucking house down over the weekend? Huh! Fuck you and die.

The biggest plot hole was that kid still not knowing why there was a Purge every year, and the father had to explain it. The kid must have been several Purges already, and still he let the homeless man in. I hope he felt very regretful afterwards, as he caused his dad to die.

Good job ignoring the main character just to push a victim complex onto yourself.

>Sinister
I love that one too. I think they’re making it because it performed well at the box office.

Thats literally the plot of the movies. the most recent one was about the first purge and how every single person except one dude spent the night partying instead of killing.

How would you guys survive the Purge? Be alone, or stay with reliable friends and family? Make sure you can trust them, for they can get the idea to kill you for the smallest of reasons. Where would you go? What weapons and tools you got?

I took it as the kid letting the homeless guy in because he grew up in a rich liberal bubble and had poor real world experience.

first of all, people dont like killing other people. look up statistics from the first and second world war. only a fraction of the soldiers actually tried to shoot the opponents and a shockingly large percentage never even fired their weapons in the direction of the enemy. same thing applies with fighter pilots, 1% of pilots kill 50% of the opponents. modern warfare tries to counteract this somewhat by making the soldiers train on human like targets, so they shoot as an instinctive reaction and wont have to think about it.

not to mention that people wouldnt like getting killed themselves and would put some counter measures like some register which lists everyone who was seen committing more serious crimes. nobody would hire or enlist the people on these lists. people would just also just pour funds into a private security force to uphold some semblance of normalcy, enforcing certain laws is also permitted on a lawless day. what people would actually do on a purge day is break contracts, bribe politicians, browse black markets, and distribute copy-righted content and questionable porn openly and at a profit. there would also be some really weird events and parties that wouldnt pass normal regulations, probably some insane orgies or some really dangerous shit.

Wait what...? I thought we were just talking about well regarded horror films, not B movies specifically. Are you seriously trying to say that non-political B horror films didn't make up the vast, vast, vast majority of B horror films every decade from the 50s to the late 90s? I mean seriously, there are thousands of creature feature and slasher films alone.
