What is it about this character that it brings the best out of actors?

When you play the Joker you get to show society how you really feel in the guise of "acting".
I'm looking forward to this but I have a hard time believing he will top his peformance in The Master.
>mumbles
>scratches face
>shouts in anger
>mumbles
Wacky Phoenix is such a great actor
>What is it about this character that it brings the best out of actors?
You mean Heath? And no one else?
I maintain that Jake Gyllenhaal would be an amazing Joker.
Why do people correlate le wacky character with good acting so much?
He’s a free pass to drop all inhibition and act on impulse in the moment. Whenever the Joker’s on-screen, every other character takes a backseat, because that’s his nature. He represents the alluring liberation of insanity.
Phoenix very limited range and latent autistic performances are the perfect projection for many lonely and ugly neets. Any film starring Joaquin gives them hope that someone as talentless as themselves can be successful. Case in point : ywnrh, inherent vice and many other movies featuring Joaquin as the lead actor.
A mask doesn't obscure, it reveals.
That's all good but he's actually recognized as a "great actor" by larger audiences. Same for Gosling's autistic mumbling or Gyllenhaal's neurotic shouting or McCounaghey's smug uncle, it seems people are so defeated by shitty blockbuster acting they accept pretty much everyone with a bit of emotion even if that bit is them just playing themselves
>Camera see texture
City is grey
>Costume colorful
>hes dance
>
Masterpeace.
So just contrast then
Yea Im totally sure this capeshit performance is better than his performances in The Master or Gladiator. Fucking pleb nu-critics who shamelessly shill capeshit should kill themselves.
This movie looks like hot garbage.
>19 years I'm still ass mad he didn't win an oscar for Gladiator
He's just playing himself
Funny that you'd mention exactly those actors. I like them in movies were the director forces them to emote and act. Movies were they just tatter around doing their respective thing always feel directed weakly
He's just playing
>Gosling's autistic mumbling
But Gosling's strength is his autistic REEEE screech
>director forces them to emote and act
I'm saying that they just _can't_ act. They have a certain charisma and good looks, and when they pick a right role it just fits. Goose is just more energetic in Nice Guys and McC is just moodier in True Detective
Even Joaquin thinks that Todd Phillips is the most talented filmmaker has has ever worked with.
you need more than 2 modes to be a actor
What about his silent stare? That makes 3
Me too, man. His every scene was pure, unfiltered kino.
>Silent stare
>Mumbling Austism
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeee screechs
>Autotuned singing
Thats 4 acting modes
>The Master.
Couldn't even finish watching this shit.
Why?
Because its the kind of character that is deceptively easy to fuck up.
Because you're a stupid woman.
Reminder this comes from salty marvelcucks from discord because Phoenix is not only the best actor alive, he also rejected the role of Doctor Strange or any part in the MCU
You probably should have dilated first, capetranny
Usually don't give a shit about capeshit garbage but I might watch this for Joakino tbqh
>literally just travis bickle in clown makeup
yeah wow what a groundbreaking performance
