Good tension throughout the whole movie helped primarily by the amazing sound. A couple funny parts as well.

None of the people murdered were really her friends though. The Swedish guy was the only one who seemed nice to her and he lived and she chose to have her bf killed. My buddy hyped this movie up to me but honestly it feels a bit overrated and kinda cliche even compared to Hereditary. The supporting cast feels overly stupid and the idea of this never feel used to it's potential to showcase the ideas of community and family that are trying to be communicated. It honestly just needed better execution and more editing to the script to really make it hit home.
The cinematography and shot selection was quite engaging though, pure directing wise it's an interesting watch.

I just got home from seeing this. I can't remember the last time I wanted to walk out of a movie so badly during the last 20 or so minutes. I felt nothing but boredom during the entire film. I was never scared or in suspense, nothing was shocking or unsettling and I honestly couldn't have given two shits about any of these completely underdeveloped characters. I can't believe that at 2 and half hours of runtime they managed to do absolutely nothing.

I went to my theatre on discount day and it was a bunch of single dudes with exceptions of couple of teenage girls and one fat woman.
