The story was written in a croperate board room to try to do mass appeal instead of just making a competent story about the aftermath of the Empires Fall.

It doesnt matter that Rey was a chick and Finn is a black storm trooper, the actors are all likable and talented enough to do a good job, the writers gave them nothing.

Disney set up an easy soft reboot and then they did nothing with it in movie two, too afraid to actually break from the past despite doing what it could to ruin the past. Giving us the worst of both worlds.

This is all they needed to fix this shitshow

Galaxy post empire is actually a bunch of different power groups vying for control, remnants of the Empire control small fiefdoms and fight with and against eachother to stop the New Republic and other factions.

The force seeking balance is spawning a new generation of Jedi and Sith to step into the chaotic void and bring order to the universe.

Now the story can be about Kylo and Rey and others dealing with creating a new balance.

Rey and Kylo team up in movie 2 or Rey goes evil.

Kylo cannot be redeemed as he is to bad but he can sacrifice himself a la his grandfather, ironically actually living up to Anikans legacy as he always wanted.

THE FUCKING END BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND LOVED BY FANS.
