ITT: best trailers you've seen

Only trailer i ever remember "captivating" me was the one for "Social Network", with the choral Creep cover. Doesn't hurt that the film itself is GOAT.

the trailer for the girl with the dragon tattoo with the led zeppelin cover is better than the actual movie

fuck off

The 5 minute Cloud Atlas trailer. The first Glass trailer. But the best trailers are video game trailers.
youtu.be/InUj9BT8KCc
Case in point. This tv spot is better than 90% of Batman movies.

i'll never forgive the trailer for triple 9 for tricking me into thinking i was in for the greatest low rent crime flick of all time instead of the mediocrity it actually was.

we all know how the movie turned out but fuck me if this trailer doesn't get me hyped every time.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=kYzz0FSgpSU

Greatest trailer of all time. I actually watch it at least once a month

The American/international trailer for Night Watch is what always comes to my mind.

youtube.com/watch?v=8_w6Aealdgo

Aside from the shitty intro with an unnecessary jump scare, it's pretty great. It makes the movie seem better than it is, and it hides the fact that it's Russian. Because who's going to go see a Russian movie? It uses music really well too.

Best horror trailer coming through.

The Claire de Lune trailer for KotM was good
The very first trailer for Mission Impossible: Fallout was enough to get me into the series as a whole

>Night Watch
Bekmambetov is such a fucking hack, almost on the same level as Uwe Boll. the film was such garbage, compared to what could've been (the books aren't half bad, first one in particular)

Attached: 1451993840564.png (192x192, 5K)

ofc it was, the problem with Bekmambetov is he's got no style and he tries too fucking hard to make "Hollywood" blockbusters, rather than make something interesting and stylised. the books are pretty unique (at least the first one) and could've been made into something interesting with some proper fucking direction/writing

This is a fantastic trailer and I wish the ghosts got to do more. The shot of him phasing into the seat is still the hypest shit.
the Naruto AMV of this trailer is pretty cool too

I like this one a lot. The buildup is solid, and the first real crash of the music as the gun goes off and the car crashes is great. Then it's just a million incredible names all on the same picture. Alba's wink right at the end as the music cuts is solid too.

I love the film so I might be a bit biased, but the trailer is incredible IMO.

my favourite Coens film along with Fargo

Why did you edit your own school photo.

Some days, I even think the trailer was better than the movie.

The greatest.

my favourite vidya trailer is the bioshock one: youtube.com/watch?v=Q8lngIFXRi4. the witcher monsters one is also great obviously

i liked when every trailer after Inception went BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

nig

It's not meant to be a criticism of the movie. I really disliked it the first time, but each time I watch my appreciation grows (while at the same time I find it increasingly unwatchable due to the unpleasantness of the characters and their actions, particularly Zuckerberg). But the trailer promises everything the movie is and more. While the movie captures the creation of Facebook, the trailer seems to capture the feeling and experience of using Facebook through the context of its creator.

ger

based

Alright now this looks like a good trip, hopefully it works

Theres been a fad where some trailers just have guitars/stomps and claps "AYAYAYAAAA" vocals. But this is the only one I like youtube.com/watch?v=SKvPVvy2Kn8

it's clearly the element that made it successful

fuck you

Top gun trailer looked great

Embarrassing post

The one with Dies Irae is kino.

This can't happen anymore with the dominance of internet trailers. But the best trailers are the ones where the big reveal is like a minute in. Fast and Furious 4 came out after the sequel where two of the lead characters didn't reunite and a third move that has none of characters. Imagine thinking this is another spy and all of the sudden Paul Walker is talking to Vin Diesel youtube.com/watch?v=Gl-d_UIhdBw

what is this type of speech that all redditors use called and why is it so fucking gay and annoying

The one for Mad Max: Fury Road.

dishonest gushing? the writing there is informed by the vote system so you want to make your post likeable more often than not

The bvs trailer was really good. Shame the movie was sort of a mess

Simulated niceness. It sounds artificial and not how people talk in real life, it awakens some disgust deep within. Yea Forums posts sound more normal to me than Reddit posts, weirdly enough.

Attached: 1518309734959.jpg (271x271, 8K)

Honestly, I'm surprised nobody mentioned Suicide Squad yet

The trailer was so good it made me think the movie was going to be good too. Boy was I surprised. The guy who made the trailer should be receiving an oscar for that fucking performance

bfi have made some great trailers
youtube.com/watch?v=lfF0vxKZRhc
youtube.com/watch?v=W_9rhPDLHWk

The Handmaiden has got to be my favourite trailer
youtube.com/watch?v=whldChqCsYk

The original teaser was pretty good (outside of John Boyega) and everything from there marketing wise was Disney dropping the ball hard. What a failure they've done to ruin a franchise that prints money.

it's free advertising from consumerist drones convinced they're posting out of pure love for the product

You play video games, dude. You're not in any position to comment about the state of art.

>le "teal and orange is bad" meme

This, it promised everything I wanted
>new characters who aren't all Jedi
>new factions including groups of force users with their own ideologies (most of the Knights don't even have lightsabers)
>a notable but small presence of the OT characters

Delivered literally none

Oh, so only "art scholars" are in position to comment on the state of art? stop being a self-important prick and acknowledge that after post-modernism "art" became ironic and is used solely for the purpose of money laundering.

it is

This so much, it's one of the best.

That MoS teaser is still my favorite, so much potential wasted.

The Requiem for a Tower trailer for LotR was damn good and made the second part in a trilogy look like there were actually incredibly high stakes.
youtube.com/watch?v=xvRBuUUb2yk

Attached: TTT.jpg (1600x1144, 175K)

dude when I saw that trailer starting in theaters and it was DC, with a guy on a boat I was really excited they were going to do some slightly subversive Aquaman film, thus making a less popular DC hero the center of their cinematic universe much like Marvel did with Iron Man
then it was just another fucking supes movie

why?

From never hearing Norwegian black metal, to watching a church in flames to Dunkelheit. This shit is still amazing.

youtube.com/watch?v=Sr_RaCM-1ug

Most vidya trailers are ass and this is coming from a former Yea Forumstard. Like the Death Stranding trailer felt so amateur in its execution despite being a movie simulator with real mature graphix and actors.

I think Aquaman could work with more practical emotions and grounded cinematography, not dark and gritty, but thoughtful

Just gonna post actually good fan made trailers that aren't clickbait
youtube.com/watch?v=8pIV4AgHcoc

yeah as I was watching it, I was thinking it would be a relatively small scale coming of age kind of story that establishes the character as central to the DC Universe
instead it was another shitty superman

What the fuck are y'all talking about lmao how would Aquaman offer more philosophy and insight than Superman

it would certainly be more interesting than le invincible man fights invincible man to destroy city again xdddd

If we're playing the "would have" game then a good Superman movie would be more in line with what you're asking about than a good Aquaman movie.

Source: We got a good Aquaman movie and it was nothing more than an international action flick, we haven't gotten a good Superman movie in decades

Name ONE film trailer more epic than this videogame trailer:

youtube.com/watch?v=C8Wr3C2wpSo

protip: there's none

One of Aquaman's origin stories that is now ignored is a man who was interested in the ocean that he discovered a way through science. Another is the king who was never satisfied and wanted to become down to Earth

youtube.com/watch?v=2FRiUTwLbVc

youtube.com/watch?v=92cVd9HalHs

hello I'm mastur cheef lololololololol

Superman has been done to death.
And no, we did not get a good Aquaman movie.

i have to say the roman soldier is very kawaii

Little Children (2006)

GOAT coming through

This was an amazing trailer especially when I first saw it and was like "what the fuck even is this??"

True

It's weird to think back to then and remember seeing this trailer and being into it instead of just thinking "oh, another capeshit... bravo hollywood".

that's a feel

Godzilla 2014 Teaser trailer is fantastic as well.

music video trailers can make shit look like gold
youtube.com/watch?v=CmRih_VtVAs

Yeah but Thor three was unironically the best thor (with Infinity war being the best movie with thor overall)

People who dislike it are brainletts.

Because vidya trailers are built as their own piece whereas movie trailers are cut from existing components, in most cases at least

because video game trailers don't need to show the game

the teaser was better

youtube.com/watch?v=OMOVFvcNfvE

even after watching this mediocre reboot, that moment at 1:00 when the original score kicks off still gets me hyped

youtu.be/aILx69WrRhQ

that's the best scene

The best trailer youtube.com/watch?v=wCc2v7izk8w

patrician choice, so good

Don’t know if anybody posted it but the Prometheus trailer where the last third is that shrill Alien Siren/Yell and you hear Shaw screaming “CUT IT OUT, CUT IT OUT” and quick cuts of body horror. Damn that was some goodshit. Movie was meh but the trailer got me and my friends hype as fuck and we went to the midnight showing back in senior year, I was never more excited.
