Goku has that dopiness that you can't really bring in someone in the top 10 of Hollywood action stars , you need someone who's not super famous but can hold his own.
There are a couple former power rangers who are younger (20s) that I can think of

All black males and white females.

The Rock as Goku.
Idris Elba as Vegeta.

>The Rock as Goku

Is it weird that I could see this working? He has the disposition needed to do Goku. I could totally see the Rock playing a dumb character that just loves to fight and get litty.

It'd be cool, but ya gotta remember that even though Goku is big, but he's still smaller than some of the villains he fights.

>Goku is big
for you

LEWIS TAN as Goku or Tien

>all asian cast
Why? The point of an adaptation, specifically a local one, is to ADAPT the property to fit the world of the viewer. It's not a translation or a dub, it's (metaphorically) an American adaptation filmed and written in America.

Do you think they cast white actors in Japan when they remake American films? How about Uganda, when they make a Predator movie or some shit? No. I'll never understand this mindset. It's like the "female director must direct this film because it's about women" bullshit. It's dismissing worth, talent, and common sense for some personal social edification. So some casting director can pat themself on the back about how progressive and accepting they are.

Furthermore, Dragonball does not take place in Asia. None of the characters are Asian or oriental. It's not even the same Earth we recognize. So it makes even less sense.

>None of the characters are Asian or oriental.

Goku is practically a goofy tarzan. Brendan Fraser comes to mind but he's too old and too fat now.

Bro, Fraiser in Enchino Man is literally Goku in the first 100 chapters of Dragon Ball

In the thumbnail it looks like he's standing on someone's finger.

he's perfect. also hard mode should've been Stephen Chow if he's willing to go hollywood. Unfortunately, since nolan's batman every hollywood producer are obsessed with making comic adaptations more grounded.

You need someone that is similar in demeanor to Chris Pratt. Dopey yet affable.

Here's a (You) for all the hard work

>Goku is big
He's like 5'7". Ever one of the Z fighters except Piccolo are manlets.

Stephen Chow with modern VFX would be spectacular and capture DB in a way that would differentate itself from superhero movies

Most people don't know that because Toei animation loved making them taller whenever they wanted going against Toriyama's designs

Jodelle as Bulma

She looks very average for a woman. Bulma is very beauty conscious

>impying a woman can only have one look

Been there done that but if it were made again in the 90s I would've put Robin Liu(from Mortal Kombat live action) or Jacky Chan as the leads and get the kid who played Jet Li's son in that one movie where he beats up the school bullies.
Fill in the rest

I really do think that for a wuxia sci fi manga/anime series with a martial arts upbringing, hong kong cinema influences, and fight scenes in settings that are frequent to the asian continents, you gotta go with an asian cast. I get it, Goku is a character who doesn't hold onto contemporary culture, but you can't deny 4 of the Z fighters being asian adjacent nor Goku's wife, master, and adoptive father being asian as well. I wouldn't've cared in 2009 but in 2019, having Goku be white is a shot in the foot for a "certain" percentage that dominates the international market

Kevin Hart is Krillin. He won't even need camera angles to be super short.

The dude who played liu kang is diffinitly Goku. Jackie Chan in the late 90s-early 90s would be good, but mid 90s Chan was seen as a very grown adult
