DC animated movies actually used to be good. But in the last few years they pump them out so quickly. They have extremely fast production schedules with very little budget.

Yeah but in Japan animator is just a regular job that doesn't pay much. In America animators make good money, specially for big studios, same as voice actors, add other costs like software, editors, etc... it all adds up. You do a lot more in Japan with 1 million than in the US. For comparison Spirited Away had a budget of 15-20 million compared to disney's The Princess and the Frog which was over 100 million.

It amazes me to this day that Hush gets as much traction as it does. Jeph Loeb's writing was shit by that point and the story takes a huge nosedive once Tommy "ORIGINAL CHARACTER DONUT STEEL" Elliot turns out to be Hush instead of Jason. It was incredibly infuriating to have this fucking nobody come out of nowhere and mastermind every villain in Gotham to work together against Batman, as if they were in some sort of Union; hugely insulting to have Poison fucking Ivy to mind control Superman, like really?
The only plus i can think about that mediocre story is Jim Lee's art. And you obviously can't have that on an animated movie so i fail to see what positives would this adaptation possibly have.
