Why isn’t there more representation of color blind people in television and movies?
Under represented disabilities in Yea Forums
because blind people cannot see how poorly represented they are and therefore cannot advocate for a better state of affairs.
Classic Paul Dano.
Blind and color blind are two different things
(OP)
Classic
weird scene
it came out of left field and his reaction was totally overacted
>little miss sunshine
haha that move is such a romp
Underacting is for losers. Overacting is talked about is Step 7 in the 9 Step Program.
based, actlets seething
Kino scene.
It was perfectly built up to, life comes out of nowhere, so it was quite appropriate.
Fuck off blindy
>it came out of left field
all the characters in the movie are losers in their own way, he thought he was above them and life gave him the middle finger, it was well set up and he reacted like you would imagine a young boy to react if you told him his dream isnt gonna happen.
There’s no need for your impotent rage here, just making a clarification.
What’s the name of that disease where you look like a little girl but are actually an adult woman?
>here
Where?
Who said that?
Ahahaha
esther has autism
Are you like a crazy person?
Reverse lolicon syndrome
Any left handed kinos?
Honestly I find it kind of weird how rare even wheelchair users are in films, nevermind people missing limbs or with disfigurements in some manner
Southpaw (2015)
Being gay is not a disability. The DSM IV said so!
little lupe syndrome
Unless it serves a narrative purpose why would it be there?
Muh realism?
>If you watch any of Refn's films, like Drive, Bronson, or Only God Forgives, you'll quickly begin to understand that his approach to cinema is unlike any other. One of the first things that stands out in his work is the color—the vibrant, neon colors that play equally important roles in his films as the characters do. This is particularly interesting considering the fact that he is colorblind, something he learned while shoe shopping with his wife.
>Refn uses color as a narrative tool; for example, his frequent use of red works to communicate the ferociousness of the subject matter, like the savageness and brutality of Tom Hardy's character in Bronson or Ryan Gosling's character in Drive.
>Muh realism?
Yes? By not showing it, it makes it seem like a weird element. Like, you don't need a plot reason for someone to have blonde hair or be black. Disability is one of the things that hollywood should be trying to normalise.
There are probably more hollywood films with trannies in the last year than with people missing an arm. To me that seems kind of fucked.
Based
But movies are not about replicating reality, they never have been and I don't know how or why you've convinced yourself that they are
Nothing in any movie is being normalised or abnormalised because a fictional setting is not reality nevermind normality
The tranny stuff is social point scoring which will stop the moment trannys stop being socially relevant, if you actually gave a shit about disabled people that is not at all what you'd want for them
it's not
it's an illness
Movie?
>How does one's inability to see certain colors affect the way they make films? Just ask Nicolas Winding Refn.
>Yes, the director of Only God Forgives, Drive, and Bronson is unable to see midtones, and this video essay shows how his color blindness shows up in not only the look of his movies, but their content as well.
The point I was making was that this tranny push, while you're that it's an attempt at scoring points, will lead to normalising of the concept.
It seems fucked that disabled people have never had this. You can normalise a concept without exploiting it. To take an example, there's no reason why there couldn't be background characters in mission impossible in a wheelchair. Or, aside from budget, why Pegg's character couldn't be missing a finger. I'm not at all criticising the film for not doing this, but as a whole it seems weird how infrequently films do portray disabilities. And when they do, it's always a plot-point.
It's always, "I'm in a wheelchair because I was an alcoholic and drove under the influence" or whatever, instead of "when I was a kid, some asshole hit me with their car" or "I injured myself while playing sports in high school" if it even needs to be mentioned that is.
I dunno. Like I say, it just seems weird to me.
umpa lumpa?
The father was a cuck. I would have her examined, by at least 4 doctors, make sure she's actually old, then take her home and fuck her brains out for days
>born with anosmia (no sense of smell)
>only "representation" was Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
I mean, I love Walk Hard, so I'll take it, but still. Enough with the blind and deaf people. Some of us are hard of smelling too.
Brah you can rip the nastiest farts and love it, or go places that would make most humans gag. You have been given a gift
Andy Milonakis Disease or Gary Coleman Disease
Doesn’t that mean your sense of taste isn’t very well developed? That’s gotta suck
They don’t look like little girls at all
Social dynamics that change over time lead to the normalisation of fringe behaviours (homosexuality being the big one), not movies, Hollywood and popular media reflect society as best as they can to get asses in seats, not the other way around
It's like how dictionaries don't define language, language usage defines the content of dictionaries. If you wanted to introduce new words or entire linguistic customs into a spoken language you don't start adding stuff to the dictionaries, you go out and influence that language change in, you know, the real world
Tossing a token pretend disabled character into fictional a setting doesn't change anything in anyone's mindset, shit like your son bringing his blind/deaf/paraplegic/what the fuck ever girlfriend to dinner actually might, and when you go to work and your colleague has some disability and some guy on the bus and so on, that is what normalises abnormal things, in the real world
imagine no smell
And then she would kill you retard
But i can smell and i fucking love it when i rip the nastiest most rotten putrid cheek slamming farts
>hwn smell this :(
well neither will we, but we could if we could
Based and classicpilled.
That's racist
growth hormone deficiency will do it
I have 3 people in my family with it. All of them are addicted to sugar, fat, salt, and carbs to the nth degree because that's the only food that gets their brains going. One of them refuses to eat fast food because he knows he would balloon up from it
>tfw when you will never know the actual real colour the thing going up her asshole is.
IT'S NOT FAIR
What's the sign for brap
It's really a mild inconvenience than a full on disability
This man is 100% right.
Do you realize that youre smelling your own guts?
kinda gay imo
It's my gift... My curse.
I have no basis for comparison, but while I can definitely taste, it's probably dulled or hampered compared to everyone else.
But it smells so good and satisfying
top kek
It was a classic scene
not really, think of how many things have color
Gigantism
and die in a ball of fire from a gas leak accident.
>I don’t see color
We need more amazon women in television and film
You telling me you never scratched your balls and sniffed your fingers?

>But movies are not about replicating reality, they never have been and
yes they are. don't confuse the author's inability to perfectly replicate it or liberties taken for artistic or rule of cool reasons for them not trying to do this at all. if they weren't attempting to replicate reality then they would mean nothing to those of us who occupy it and would have no impact. they'd just be like staring into a kaleidoscope or something. you can have fun with that too, but it's a very different experience from something like a dramatic narrative or an adventure story or a morality tale or whatever. y'know, the talking animals are only able to impart morality lessons because they act like humans do in reality. if they didn't then it wouldn't translate.
Deuce Bigalow is the only movie that comes to mind
>while I can definitely taste, it's probably dulled or hampered compared to everyone else
Why do you think so? Are you judging the experience on other people's reaction to food? In my case that first bite into a good burger is almost orgasmic.
Because people who aren't color blind generally don't understand color blindness
But why. I gave her the dick. All she wants is the dick and all I want is that small but legal pussy.
Ryan Gosling's character in The Nice Guys can't smell. Think it played a hand in not being able to detect the smell of something burning or some kind of odor that led to the death of his wife.
Guts? More like microscopic little piece of poo particles you're breathing in.
I really like the shot of him kneeling on the ground with his family behind him with blue sky overhead.
I’d watch a movie starring BDH suffering from Chron’s disease
We can listen to movies like they used to listen to radio. We can even post here and lurk the interwebs like everybody else because of how far text-to-voice software has come. Poach. Mom, can you come up here? Can you fill some water in the tub please? Thanks, I'm just
This show's main character is fully color blind.

lol get a load of this pleb.
>at work
>ask coworker, do you smell that? Smells like burning
>I dunno man I lost my sense of smell as a kid
>what caused that?
>my dad beat the hell out of me and I lost sense of smell, I dunno...
>mfw
>yfw you realize some PA stole that thong and has been been masturbating with it on his face for 15 years
Yeah, just assumed based on the gap between people's reaction to food and mine. It also means I have a greater tolerance for food that people have told me tastes "bad" or "bland."
>anime
it was me
