Aussie Kino

Watching pic related. I also saw Wake In Fright recently which I really enjoyed. What are some other Australian kinos I should see?

The Castle is the GOAT classic
Snowtown & Animal Kingdom are the best new-ish dark films
I think Jane Campion's first film 'Sweetie' is heavily underrated. She won a Palme d'Or and an Oscar later (technically a kiwi but she made Sweetie in straya).

I liked Gallipoli when we watched it in school

Australia haven't made a good film in 20 years.

Where did you go to school?

>good
>Australian movies

Crocodile hunter collision course

Triangle
Mad max 1 2 4 then 3 (in that order)

Mad Max: Fury Road would like a word with you son.

I've seen a couple of decent Australian TV movie.

the castle wouldn't really translate to americans i feel

I saw that in cinemas. Brilliant!

I can confirm this.
t. has seppo relatives

I've seen the castle I think. It's the one about the lad whose house is gonna be knocked down for a runway right?

too kino for plebs to understand

Is that his one with the CIA or some shit.

Road Warrior is the post-apocalyptic movie I've seen

Red Dog is okay, the fact that the main bloke was a yank is a damn crime.

I've seen Red Dog but not the second one.

I forgot they made a second one, I was gonna see that on New Years Day but I was too busy puking my guts out.

Any good shows that Australia has made?

Frontline
Review with Miles Barlow
The Big Lez Show
Wilfred

Rake is great too.

I downloaded Rake a few weeks ago and enjoyed that. I think I'll watch Jack Irish next.

Kettering Incident with Debicki is decent spooky aesthetic small town thriller mystery although the NZ show it ripped off, Top of the Lake (just the first season), is better.

Kath and Kim for suburban Australians that are too wealthy to be bogans and too stupid to be upper class

Comedy inc was hit or miss

Fat pizza for western Sydney stereotypes

Slide if you liked skins

Then if you want unironically bad tv you watch aca/today tonight

ACA is hilarious!

>THEY'RE THE NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL
>BUT FIRST, WHICH CHAIN HAS THE TASTIEST FRENCH FRIES, WE DID A BIND TASTE TEST AND THE RESULTS MAY SHOCK YOU
>AND LATER, NOW YOU CAN SAVE 20 DOLLARS A WEEK OFF YOUR GROCERY BILL WITH THIS NEAT TRICK

dont forget dodgy tradies and people scamming their relatives out of their pensions

I saw Australia worst neighbour the other day and some old lady keeps flashing her tits hahaha

naahhh
surely not
if this is true my opinion of americans goes down massively

I checked out Review with Miles Barlow and that was the first episode was peak kino. Thanks for the recommendation

In order:
1) Breaker Morant
2) Gallipoli
3) The Interview
4) Weekend of Shadows (very hard to find)
5) Picnic at Hanging Rock

The Proposition
The Rover
Razorback
These Final Hours
Snowtown
Goldstone
Rabbit Proof Fence
The Dish

Sadly our film industry is awful nowadays, SJW politics has rotted all the funding bodies to the core.

Aussie New Wave in the 70s and early 80s was peak kino.

>The Interview
Hidden gem here.

Mr inbetween is great
Fat pizza
Swift and shift couriers
Housos
