$60,000 rims

This style of car is seriously so shitty looking. That era was really ugly.

fancy german car

A GSX was about 12-20k then since the model that came out in 2000 was terrible. Beyond that early carbon fiber stuff was expensive. Bigger turbo, new internals, ecu and tuning another 10k. Paint and body kit 10k. Wheels and tires 4K. Stereo etc another 5. You might have been able to spend $50k on it.

I saw a replica of that car at a drag strip and it ran a high 15. Disgraceful.

Yea... it’s pretty easy to get a gsx into the 9s tho if you don’t put a bunch of crap on it.

Base car is probably GS, 10k
The engine is from top models like GS-T or X, 7k
Nitro systems, 3-5k
Computers next 3-5k
Fancy rims again 3-5k
Racing tyres 2k
Custom paintjob 1-2k
Custom vinyls/stickers 1k
Custom interior 3-5k
Custom bodywork 2k
Aero components 2k

Maybe 80k is too much but it would reach 50-70k range based on my estimates

>That era
99.99999% of cars manufactured after the 1980s look like shit.
Teslas look like fucking Acuras

I need NOS.

aftermarket parts retard

I know nothing about cars and this probably could be answered from a google search but still, how come cars don't look cool anymore? I mean I still think high end stuff looks nice but just the regular cars you see driving around are so boring to look at. Lifeless shapes and colors.

75k worth of aftermarket parts bolted to it.

Super advanced brakes that don't need calipers

Why didn't he just get a brand new 911 which started at $80k?

pedestrian safety regulations.

i winder how many tires she's eaten

There's no way to make something stylish and aesthetic while also following those regulations?

But seriously folks, FF was the worst thing to happen to the sport compact scene.

Because as it turns out aerodynamics and drag is really fucking important. There is really only one shape that provides the least amount of drag, so that's why everything looks like a teardrop.

Globalization. Many brands share components or whole models under different names.
Safety regulations, certain designs are more effective than others. Protecting people inside as well as pedestrians outside.
Fuel and economy. Smoother designs help to reduce aero drag resulting in better fuel consumption.

who is she?

The best look on cars is the 70's muscle look. No other can come close.

Debate me.

You can, but that’s why exciting looking cars are expensive, it takes millions of r&d to make something that looks good also pass regulations. Majority of normal cars are built on the same or very similar platforms which makes them look all the same.
However, majority of normal cars back in the day also looked boring, the reason why people think that cars back in the day looked so good is because they only remember the good looking cars and ignore the horrid cars that most people drove

they're awful cars to actually drive, but they are really appealing for some reason.
i think its my inner 9 year old that really likes them.

I absolutely love that car holy shit user

user I'm not saying you're wrong but the 80's felt so right.

>no caliper on the rear disk
lmao

What's an ugly car from an otherwise aesthetic era?

Blocky trash with few exceptions.
Streamline era 40s-50s cars were masterpieces of design. Details inspired by aviation, fins, chrome, innovative technology.

AMC gremlin, ford pinto, Traband
However, it’s all in the taste, some people think those cars are cool nowadays because of the nostalgia

I see you are a man of culture.

My 93 GSX ran high 13's with just a front mount IC which was a pain in the ass to install btw and DSM link

Darth Vader on wheels

What does driving feel like bros? I'm too afraid to do it. Is it actually fun or is that just something people say?

That 10 second car insult Diesel throws at Walker is really not based in reality.

Best Paul Walker vehicle checking in.

That pic does look good.

And that sweet, sweet feeling of your dashboard going through your skull when you hit something

Your ignorance is kind of showing but the total isnt far off.

The engine is rebuilt and protuned so its more like 15-30k. Seriously people spend an arm and a leg on that shit. Nitro isnt all that expensive and would be part of the engine build. Computers? You mean the ecu? That would also be part of the protune.

Those rims really dont look that crazy. They MIGHT be 2k. Now the drivetrain/suspension could be another ten thousand. Tires would indeed be around 2k. The paint however if ceramic coated would be closer to 5 or 6k. Stickers are free. Seriously I get stickers with every car part I buy. Interior, bodywork and aero you're not far off.

for me....... civic wagon

This isnt even a good looking "built" car, and its clearly just a prop. There no fucking brakes in the rear for christ sake

By 2fast they were just bolting shit onto garbage cars.

The spyder in that one was the shitty NA Eclipse Japan didn't want with five digit paint job and the evo was just a granny Lancer.

Every sticker adds 1hp.

you so right

Attached: ae86.jpg (760x509, 85K)

They put maybe 500 dollars in to that car

Pic related is what a wheel on nice tuner actually looks like. Look at the difference.

I don't really remember the movie too well, but that Dsm I had was fun to work on but a pain in the ass to keep running right mostly because of it's age. I bought it from the original owner for $1500. She had all the maintenance records and even had the receipt for a factory recall crankcase replacement. The seals on the motor all started going up at once it seemed like, ECU burned out in a parking lot lol. Started smoking at stop lights and shit. I ended up selling it to someone on the DSM forums so it went to a good home, I think.

dam

>reverse search
>nothing
Give me more, dammit, I NEED more of that tummy.

>NA Eclipse Japan
None Eclipse was available in Japan. It was basically a rebadged Chrysler or Plymouth/Eagle Talon with few changes.

why the fuck can't we have a gran turismo game for autists anymore?

>tfw 2002 civic

Can you get an aesthetic car for under 10k lads

Attached: 1551852198175.webm (1920x1080, 2.45M)

I think he meant the custom decals on top of the paint. Not the product stickers. But you're more correct about the engine build and tune being one shot. I'm pretty sure that's a GSX so the drivetrain/crankcase upgrade would probably be pretty damn expensive as well.

Yeah they tried to sell the spyder in Japan as a special edition and nobody bought it.

Actually has calipers. Nice!

i just bought a six speed 98 corvette for $10,000 a year or so ago

a-spec forever.

that's not the same girl you shit

Did it come with a mid-life crisis?

How many miles? Even in decent shape that's a good deal. It's the boomer Ferrari

Ok, I just listed each.
>Stickers are free. Seriously I get stickers with every car part I buy.
I meant that blue sticker or vinyl or whatever it is. Not sponsored decals.

Easily, if you're also willing to work on it yourself.

the real info is coming out

The shots of the Ferrari's speedo climbing and the transition into the Coutach's engine bay always make me fucking shiver. Whoever's idea it was to use Kavinsky for the background is good at their fucking job, too; good thing the boys brought half their support staff along when they left the Beeb.

the series would have ended during filming of the first movie

Wow thats lazy. They just put a fake disk on to hide the drums.

there a dozen EVs with meme retro designs that arent even that expensive

Nice Dodge Stratus.

Shame they didn't use an actually good Japanese car
