It's really what set star wars apart from other sci-fi where the future was always shown as sleek and shiny. I loved how in the prequels Lucas took the opposite approach at least early on and showed a lot of the sleek and shiny shit in Episode I/II but gradually the ships and setpieces started looking more and more like what we saw in the OT.

However enough missiles still get through to disable the upper portion of the Dreadnought's shield and the azn chick kamikaze's into the bridge and sends it into the planets gravity like the Executor

Clone trooper armor was never sold as "COMPLETELY DIFFERENT" rather than variants of the same armor. FFS some of the toys were literal reskins as it was just the basic trooper with x legion colours. But people bought them because they liked said reskin and/or collected them.
