It was so good because they were able to see someone else do it first and succeed. Short Circuit 2 used the same song in an action sequence and it was awesome.

To be clear, it was a VERY different action sequence but the song still took it to 11.

It's so bizarre rewatching Shrek 1 and 2 because they are both great movies, but Eddie Murphy just feels incredibly dated, and that's in two movies known for their topical pop culture references. He adds nothing to the story in 2 and is just there to be annoying.

I think Shrek 2 is honestly pretty shit compared to the first one. It dropped that edge that made the original stand out. Shrek was made to be less of an angry asshole than he was in the original. The mainstream Hollywood parodies and shit were just awful as well. At least in the original things like that were kept to a minimum where most of the humor was derived from taking the piss out of the Disney fairy tale garbage. That said, this scene was pure fucking kino and this cover is one of the greatest I’ve ever heard.

It’s unfortunate but it’s true. Pretty much everyone in Shrek is like that though. Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz have done fuck all in the last 10 years or more. Eddie Murphy I think just felt like hanging it up for a while. It’s sad to see a guy who was on top of the world for so long just become a literal who.

Nah. I like The Phantom Menace but I especially can’t stand Attack of the Clones and don’t care much for most of Revenge of the Sith.
