I loved Donnie Darko when it first came out and I was 16. I watched it with my wife a few years ago and it really did not hold up. Definitely a young adult movie.
I didn't watch Drive until a month or so ago and it just seemed like a lot of posturing, but not really a very interesting story.
American Psycho and Blade Runner still hold up.
It makes me nervous to watch FLCL again, because I loved that but it's also an adolescence focused show.
I think I waited too long to watch Beserk because it also lacks a lot of nuance, but it's still enjoyable despite it.
