This DPOV twist being determined by only a handful of HG's competing for it may have been the biggest oversight in the history of oversights. At least when America voted for it last year (I'm assuming it was the Upgrade Power) chances are that would've gone to someone who needed it because these votes usually go to underdogs.

However, each player didn't know which comp each other were picking, meaning that if there is even a halfway split, chances are that there is a higher than 2.5/5 chance (since they gave this out WEEK 3 meaning people in the minority would've gone home before getting to compete) of the power going to someone associated with the majority alliance.

So, what they've essentially done is statistically give whoever is in charge something to ruin the HOH of the opposite side and use it as a fear tactic to stifle 2 weeks of gameplay (2 of Nick, Sam, or Nicole are leaving in the next two weeks and I don't even need to watch the show to know that).

So, basically, the only way to get rid of this is to get someone to use it on someone inconsequential and hope the following weeks go your way. EXCEPT, Cliff over here promised Christie and Tommy the world and back so what he did was he killed any resistance to said power for free without wasting it. He had ample opportunity to just force her to use the power and he somehow messed that up. Now, even though he is staying for 3 or 4 more weeks at most, he has 0 way to get back into the side he wants to work with or create any resistance.

TLDR Cliff could've bought himself more weeks had he just let Christie use the power and production spent like 2 seconds thinking through how it would actually operate in a real season and thought it'd be fun to carry over from BB20 since no one ever saw it. What the fuck lol
