Why doesn't Yea Forums like good horror films anymore? Every time I come here now it's infested with nu-horror causal shit.
Why doesn't Yea Forums like good horror films anymore...
>ywn watch a dracula movie starring gilbert gottfried as bella lagosi
WHY EVEN LIVE
>I'm gonna try to look intelligent and like I'm above everyone by posting a pic related of an old Horror movie poster out of the hat that I probably never watched.
No one cares grandpa.
Imagine being this insecure to assume such nonsense. Anyone who hasn't seen Herzog's Nosferatu is scum and the literal definition of pleb and underage.
I like this one but I prefer the original. My favorite parts in both are when Hutter travels through the scenic Carpathians and meets Orlok. The 22 one uses a hyena to portray a werewolf.
I love that movie. Does a better vampire movie exist? I doubt it.
I still haven't seen Coppola's Dracula, admittedly.
>he hasn't watched nosferatu
I bet you haven't watched the original either. go back to the designated containment capeshit thread.
What makes nuHorror not kino and the movies you like kino?
Coppola's Dracula is fantastic but nothing surpasses Herzog's.
It is a beautifully shot film.
My humble order
Nosferatu the Vampyre > Lugosi Dracula > Hammer Dracula > Coppola Dracula > Nosferatu > Blacula > Dracula 1979 > Count Dracula 1970
Keep in mind it also varies. Original Nosferatu will bump up a place or two depending on my mood.
Vampire movies are boring as fuck. Prove me wrong.
Imagine being self-absorbed in your own mental status to think anyone gives a shit about your personal feelings in regards to what anyone else here watches.
Joke's on you, the pic related wasn't even the original movie you simpleton.
Nu-horror tends to be overly cinematic looking which kills any sort of chance of being scary. Add onto the fact most of it is done on very obvious looking green screen with video game looking monsters and blood splatters. Also I don't know what it is about horror films nowadays where every character is forgettable. They are usually incredibly bland and give the most wooden performances. Even during the era of bad schlocky 80's horror flicks, you at least remember the characters and they left some sort of impression. Now.. not so much. Saw "It Follows" like 2 days ago and I cannot remember a single character's name yet I can tell you almost every character in Halloween, Alien, Psycho, Evil Dead, and Silence of the Lambs.
You left out Bram Stoker's Dracula, the 1992 movie.
They are some Victorian thing, born in their repressed sexuality; they should have been forgotten by now, like centaurs, but here we are.
>Joke's on you, the pic related wasn't even the original movie you simpleton.
>I bet you haven't watched the original either.
>either
What's it like being illiterate?
>Bram Stoker's Dracula, the 1992 movie.
That's Coppola's Dracula. How do you not know the director's name?
>reading comprehension
>I bet you haven't watched the original either
>either
please stop trying to project when you call nosferatu "some old horror movie".
I am retarded, of course. I don't pay much attention to the innards of movie production.
Except for Star Trek, where I read too much about how it was made and so I realized my mistake. Now I avoid digging too much into the process of moviemaking.
beat me to it fugg
>What's it like being illiterate?
I don't know, do please tell us all since you're so autistic to not comprehend that "either" has different meanings, not to mention not realizing that no one mentioned anything about the original Nosferatu (1922) to begin with. I have watched both, but I don't think that's relevant here. The topic is here is the pretentious snobbery of neckbeard faggots who think they're special and an expert in kino because they sit on their fat ass and watch a movie and cry about others who have different standards than them.
40 years is a long gap, is it not?
Liking old retro Horror movies doesn't make you a special unique individual, sunshine. No one's impressed.
i came for a boring or possible s0i slowburn bone chilling hate thread but some faggot kid is getting smoked over his lack of taste and ability to read at a third grade level
I fucking love you guys
>"either" has different meanings
what other meaning could it have in this context you fucking mong?
>I have watched both
you clearly haven't though.
>linking movies to social elevation
it's a marveltard alright.
In the english version Kinski says "death is not the worst", but in the german version with english subtitles he seems to say "that is not the worst. Which one is correct? I'm leaning towards the first one cause it sounds bettter.
>You called them 'old', so therefore it's quite clear you've never watched them.
Imagine being this retarded.
i love bone chilling slow burns and i hate jumpscares
it's clear because instead of talking about the movie you take the capeshitter approach and criticize some unspecified pretentiousness of the movie or watcher. when confronted you go
>y-yeah I've watched b-both films
>what other meaning could it have in this context you fucking mong?
I threw an accusation at the OP of not watching this movie and then got a response of.
>I bet you haven't watched the original either
Which easily could be perceived as an idiot mistakenly confusing this with the original (since people here are autists like that) while accusing someone of not watching this movie that was the relevant discussed movie either. Common sense. However, like I previously stated. I have watched both, but that's not relevant here. The discussin here is people thinking we should be impressed and concerned with their displeasure of others liking gore and jump scares.
If you can find old footage of Son of the Beach, Gilbert had to direct all his own vampire sequences because they'd fuck up and put the light on his eyes in the master rather than the interstitials
Where are your other responses to the rest of that particular post, user? It's mighty convenient for you to pick and choose what to answer. It's almost like you're backed into a corner. Also if we look at your original post here
>I'm gonna try to look intelligent and like I'm above everyone by posting a pic related of an old Horror movie poster out of the hat that I probably never watched.
It is logical to assume you haven't seen the movie because you're implying it's some random old horror movie associated with these "intelligent" no names. It goes even further when you specifically say
>posting a pic related of an old Horror movie poster out of the hat that I probably never watched.
Suddenly Herzog's Nosferatu film is random flick no horror fan has seen? If you knew about the film and watched it, why make a comment like this? It's suspicious. You have yet to even go into detail explaining it even though it's basically the story of Dracula but with a bunch of different elements. Even for people who haven't see this movie, you'd at least know the story.
It's pretentious, not to mention typical to whine about jump scare Horror films or "Nu-Horror" (As if that's a real term) while posting a pic related of an old Horror movie giving an implication that people should be impressed. Just because I point out the complete obvious doesn't mean I don't like the movie in pic related or 1922 original any less. Seriously. get a fucking grip you pathetic simp. lol
DEB OR AH!
>I threw an accusation at the OP of not watching this movie and then got a response of.
>>I bet you haven't watched the original either
Nice backpedaling. I was the first person to respond to you here over 10 minutes before responded to you.
There are far worse things awaiting man / Than death > all other iterations
Cry harder
>Person cries about liking X movies more than Y movies
>I spend the rest of the thread crying to him about what a sour poopy face he is while making idiotic posts myself.
Makes you think.
Moral of the thread.. Zoomers are spergs.
Okay.
>Which easily could be perceived as an idiot mistakenly confusing this with the original
no it couldn't. the only way to perceive it this way is if you're the type of person who would confuse them in the first place.
>The discussin here is people thinking [...] jump scares
your post specifies OP's pic and I'm responding to that particularly. if I wanted to add to the larger discussion I wouldn't be responding to you fuckwad.
the discussion here pertains to why you're a complete retard.
>It's pretentious [...] be impressed.
you're creating an argument where there is none you sperg. OP liking old horror movies more does not imply most of the things you think it does. not everything is a personal attack. of course you could also post examples of what you think are good new horror movies but I suppose sperging out and masturbating yourself to the circlejerk you're trying to enable is just as effective.
>doesn't mean I don't like the movie in pic related or 1922 original any less.
you haven't even watched them dipshit.
