I thought he was funny/talented when I was 7 years old, so yes
He was very funny, especially on In Living Color. I didn't take him seriously as an actor until I saw Eternal Sunshine. I was shocked by how great he is in that movie.
He was legitimately funny in dumb and dumber and ace ventura.
this. Zoomers just don't get it

Pretty much this. He took advantage of niggers by hopping on the nigger comedy hour show and entertaining their childish minds. He's funny when you're a kid or a coon, but once you grow up as a white man, it's pretty cringe.
When he was younger he did some interesting stand-up comedy
this exactly
he was talented in the 90s, and perhaps early 00s (at least he was good in that series of unfortunate events adaptation and bruce almighty, everything else he did in the 00s sucked IIRC)
Everybody in the 90s was hopped up on coke and good feels. That entire decade is full of high questionable decisions in ever facet of society
The best movie he was ever in was in the 2000's.
I was high as fuck from 1989-1994.
Sorry 'bout that.
Liar Liar is kino go fuck yourself
not false, but he was legitimately good in the 90s, dunno what happened
are you an art hoe? I thought there were no girls on Yea Forums
Ace Ventura is god tier physical comedy
His Eastwood impression is neat
Eternal Sunshine is one of the few movies that girls like that is also really good.
Face Dance (1992) is another notable exception.
Fire marshal Bill alone warranted Ace Ventura, and Ace Ventura was enough for Dumb and Dumber. Dumb and dumber was enough for Jim Carrey to coast for the rest of his entire life. And yes he earned every bit of it.
Kevin Bacon was always talented.
Don't know about funny though.
Yes. Literally me as a small child.
indeed, it's a shame he was never the main actor in anything big
I do not sanction the buffoonery of this thread
Fuck you. Roadhouse was a great film.
I feel like he dose his best when he has a good story to work off of and do a chariter thats 'controled madness'. Anytime hes at his best atleast for me was when he dose a chariter thats on a verge of just going serious ape-shit like hes going mad. When hes just out right LOL SO RANDUMB XD humor is.. just not trying. This is comming from some one who adored his 'The Mask' performance.
It's hard to describe/imagine how fucking popular Jim Carey was in the early 90s.
He was the breakout star of In Living Color and his early comedy films (Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, and Dumb and Dumber) were insanely popular.
His career only started to tank because he decided to become a "serious actor". His first serious role was the Truman Show and it was a commercial flop but a critical hit. This made him think he could be a serious actor but his follow up films (most notably the garbage "The Majestic") flopped hard and was hated by critics too.
Combine this with him being super difficult to work with, it pretty much ensured he got blackballed from Hollywood. Especially after his big "comeback" film (Bruce Almighty) led to him refusing to do a sequel, because he only did BA because he was super fucking desperate and once it was a hit, resumed to his old "I'm a serious artiste!" bullshit.
He was in the las Dirty Harry maybe Clint liked the impression?
The Dead Pool was one of Carey's first acting gigs. Along with a TV movie (which credited him as "James Carey") where he played a drunk who's older brother is a closet homosexual dealing with a cold and emotionally abusive father as said brother comes out of the closet to the family.
>chariter
Liar Liar is literally poopy joke level.
>implying that’s a bad thing
