The setting is interesting but they're pretty limited by the budget. It's not scifi enough. It's not spyshit enough. The drama is mostly slow and dumb.

Yeah, just to give it an ending. It was originally planned for 5 seasons until the showrunner left. They called in the Bosch guy to replace him and wrap it up. That's why S3 was even worse and more generic.

S2 > S1 > S3 but S4 looks pretty good.

The main plot is the least interesting part about the show but almost all the subplots are great. The Kempatai investigations, John Smith and his family, the art dealer, all great. As was the escalation with Japan and the entirety of the Berlin storyline.

After S3 I'm fine with it at least getting an ending season even if it's a little rushed with a shittier showrunner. It's a 7/10 show at it's best.

I stopped watching during S2 so I can't remember.
Juliana, her jew boyfriend, the Nip, the Nazi officer (Smith?). I think there was a 5th, a young guy.
I agree the Nazi dude was the best part, but in the end it was just cheesy. The piano enthusiast Nazi that appears for 3 minutes in The Pianist had more pathos in him than a guy who covered most of the screentime.

The last few episodes of Season 1 and the entirety of Season 2 are amazing. Probably the best made-for-internet show ever.

Season 3 and the earlier parts of Season 1 are just okay. The production value is high, but it's pretty generic.

Season one and two were really nice, but at the very end of season two you find out about some retarded ass trickery that leads to third being an absolute mess of a story.

The actual book that it's based on ends at Season two so everything after was basically netflix gone retarded.
