Give it a try I'd say. It's ok, but with a lot of filler and the characters aren't fleshed out like in star trek. It has some nice sci fi designs and also tries to get some of the tech right (e.g. no ftl) whereas other technologies are rather anachronistic (no robots or drobes, no ai), so it's some weird mixture of somehow realistic and somehow outdated. It works for me if I don't think about it and just enjoy the visuals.

IIRC Mars had plenty of dedicated landers made for invading earth like the one bobbi was on in the ring station, but most of their ships could never do it. Corvettes like the rocinante are in the awkward position of being able to, but only sort of by accident because of their size. Assuming any landing scenario mars planned for involved earth, they'd probably want it horizontally just so it's you don't have a 5 story tall target in a hostile situation. And tipping over would be much worse, if you're already horizontal the worst than can happen is rolling over. I'm not sure what the math on how strong the maneuvering thrusts would have to be to get it vertical again for takeoff, though.

I also want to say when they landed to find mai and capture mao, it was horizontal, but I could be wrong on that? Either way, it's pretty interesting how hard something really common in sci fi like landing a spaceship would be when you actually think about it.

I guess they could do a "home finally" after all the S3 and Ilus drama. Last couple episodes of the season. Amos is gonna use his 4 seasons worth of karma to take that good old shore leave. Visit Mao (remember from S3.5?).
Then BLAM. Go to surface. Space shot. Avasarala's beau dead. Total deaths projection: 8 billion+. And...
Mars - where the fuck did 1/3 of the fleet go.
Cut to black, end season 4.

You can fix Babylon's Ashes shittiness by combining it with the Marco parts of Nemesis Games. Season 4 is like "who drop that rock" at the very end. THEN we get to see Draper's plot on Mars researching Duarte. Marco/Naomi. Amos "The Road". Holden vs. Anderson Dawes. Drummer vs Old-Guy-Substitute-For-Michiu-Ko. Then they meet up 2/3 through in Roci to kick Marco's ass. End with mystery message from Laconia. Season 5.

Season 6 would be Persepolis Rises, which was incredibly shitty, but they can add two more plots to it by having something interesting happen on Laconia. Maybe with Avasarala getting kidnapped or something. I guess the defeat of the joint fleet might be interesting. They really have to figure this out.

I'd like Tiamat's Wrath to be one season, but they can take shit part's like Naomi's journey and mix that up with the earlier season (like they get off the ring station halfway through season 6). And the new B and C plots can weave into season 7 as well.

Then season 8 should be just whatever the last book is, which - fuck I can't wait for that read.
