/mort/ - Mortdecai General

Last one hit bump limit.
What are your expectations for the sequel?
What are some similar movies so I can get my mortkino fix?

the single greatest movie ever made
I watch it at least once ever day. I know every single line and I mouth each one as it is said on screen. I fucking LOVE Mortdecai!

While I do agree there is a lack in cinema of true kino like mortdecai, there are smaller releases coming out this very day that really bring that spirit of classic cinema back. Pic related for example.

100 times this, Gotti is an absolute classic. Another film panned by those foolish critics, the way it's paced and Travolta's performance come together so godlike or should I say gottilike! #mortgiggles

Why start a general if you aren't even gonna link to the pastebin? Does anybody have the Mortdecore guide?

someone give me the mortpill, was it a shitposter or an actual paid shill

can't handle the bantz

Met this girl for some drinks a few months ago and we get to talking about our favorite films. I mention how much I love Mortdecai. She chuckles a little then asks if I'm serious. I reply in earnest that it's my favorite film to which she burst out laughing. Now being a Morthead I'm used to people having not seen this overlooked gem but anyone who's seen it with a functioning brain loves it. I've never experienced someone with such low class just lambasting it to my face. Literally snorting and chortling herself to tears. I quickly excused myself from the table under the guise of using the lavatory but quickly snuck through the kitchen and out the back door into the alley. I've never felt so humiliated in my life. When I got home I popped my Mortdecai special edition blu-ray in to see if there was something I was missing but as expected I was treated to 107 minutes of non-stop entertainment. I guess some people just enjoy being churlish at someone else's expense.

This the third time in a row I see this thread with 10 replies

I personally believe more should be added. So give suggestions on what should make the list

Love Guru

Such kino as this is challenging for a majority of the board, a lot of people don't get it and some are just #madatmort. It's a shame really.

Any room for the holmies?

Why'd the critics put the hit out on Gotti?

Can we put together a list of Mort-approved kino?

Jealousy is the only motive I can think of.

Ah shit, it's Mortin' time. Someone outta do a Mordecai livestream soon.

100% agree. I also enjoyed Movie 43.

This is hilarious. youtube.com/watch?v=aW_sfxUnbZA
How did his not make even more money. I've seen it at least once a month since it came out.

I propose a mortdecai raid sometime. Though so those foolish mods don't suspect it we call it "total mortocol" everytime we discuss it in these threads. And show these fools that Mort is kino.

>this review
Absolutely sickening. Notice how it's not a video review either, this coward is too scared to show his face.

watch Mortdecai and come back with a full review.

Watch Mortdecai and buy it on blu ray to support it and a potential sequel.

>Don't listen to the critics, people. This movie is a lot of fun. Johnny is as brilliantly versatile as ever and funny
>Remember. The same critics dumping on Mortdecai also overpraised that useless, pointless "art film", Boyhood.
Didn't know YouTube was mortpilled. I'm pleasantly surprised.

The NWO and Illuminati are anti-Mort and threatened or paid off the coward critics. The people know the truth about Mordecai.

Honestly, Mortdecai isn't that great. For a fun flick, it's not as good as Paul Blart: Mall Cop. And if you think it compares to cinematic masterpieces like Click or Without a Paddle, you are just a pleb. Sorry.

Attached: 1542421481128.png (630x746, 1.17M)

While it did elicit a few chuckles from me I'm afraid this film is a little too crass for most mortheads.

Please. Your average mortard has a worse taste in comedy than he does in drama. For instance, he probably prefers "Flight" to "Concussion" when Concussion is clearly the more emotionally moving film. Flight was just glorified Oscar-bait.

Honestly now:
Is this movie actually entertaining or are you all just trolling?
Every online rating claims it's shit.

Attached: a picture.png (640x640, 38K)

Hear it from the PEOPLE! Who do you trust??..The actual people who saw the movie or some TROLLS behind a keyboard?

Critics were paid off to hate on the film

Plebs see Mortdecai as entertaining. Connoisseurs see it as big studio trash made to appeal to morons in the box office.

Film geniuses see Mortdecai as one of the most innovative and refreshing but critically underrated films of our time.

speaking of british humour, life of brian is on, come join lads

>mortard
There's no need to be rude, blartboy. As to your assertion that I prefer Flight over Concussion well you'd be wrong. I found Washington's performance too calculated and inauthentic. But if I'm being perfectly honest I prefer Sully to either of those cinematic outings.

Where IS THE 4K RELEASE. I recently upgraded bros.

Only the unassuming deserve /fortmort/, it rewards the 'second naivete' wise folk speak of.

>Without a Paddle
Not every film can be a cinematic classic.

>All these plebs hating on Mortdecai
How shameless and revolting. Mortedcai was the best film of 2015 and probably the 21st century so far. Yes, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and it's highly anticipated sequel were grand epics, but they lacked the sophisticated wit and debonaire intrigue that Mortdecai reinvigorated the silver screen with os eloquently.

We can find middle ground in that we both enjoyed Sully to a great degree.

In my opinion, Sully is up there with true kino like Magic in the Moonlight and 2018's Bohemian Rhapsody.

It doesn't help how quickly people take offence at Mortdecai's buoyant, uncynical approach; it felt like a breath of fresh air after being served disney formula and characters I fail to relate to.

>magic in the moonlight
What delightful little film. Firth gave such a powerful performance in that. Thank you for reminding me to revisit it.
>bohemian rhapsody
Truly a masterwork in the medium. I was blown away in the theater. I honestly pinched myself during one of the numbers because I almost forgot Mr. Mercury had passed on. So happy it found an audience with the Academy.

Have you seen I, Frankenstein? I just watched it the other night and it left me feeling reinvigorated. I truly wonder what people are watching when they say Hollywood is dead.

A great piece of cinema, perhaps even greater than Mortdecai, but I suspect you will be reticent to admit such a thing.

Hollywood is definitely not dead, nor is modern film. Lincoln and The King's Speech, as well as Darkest Hour, Milk and others prove that just in politics alone there are numerous gems to be analyzed.

I will have to admit, however, that no film can compare to Casablanca. Casablanca is one of the most exciting and tragic masterpieces ever committed to film. It rivals the entire oeuvre of Shakespeare in its emotional weight. Kids today don't know what they're missing.

Yea Forums got MORTDECAI'D

Someone had to say it but Mortedecai requires spiritual intelligence and a keen eye for social gastronomy (why we indulge our idiosyncrasies to death but reject those stranger than us):

Mort has a story to tell, most don't.

>A great piece of cinema, perhaps even greater than Mortdecai, but I suspect you will be reticent to admit such a thing.
I must admit that the thought alone gives me pause. You know how passionate the Mort community can be. You'd be hard pressed to find a more stubborn and recalcitrant bunch.

It's so nice to encounter someone else who sees the quality that's coming out of contemporary Hollywood. So many folks are so quick to dismiss what I can only call labors of love. Real cinema for the real cinephile. And I cheekily see your Casablanca and raise you a Citizen Kane!
