>The Minds Behind The Terror >Featuring Dan Simmons, David Kajganich and Soo Hugh, with Adam Nagaitis as a guest in episodes 2-4 podbay.fm/show/1370641215
I'm not even gay, and I feel more sexual attraction towards Hickey than the Eskimo woman
Connor Stewart
Do watercolours
Joseph Rogers
They actually make an aesthetically pleasing couple, thanks to having such interestingly different phenotypes, and Gibson didn't seem a bad lad. Hickey being the top also makes it better.
Is Minds Behind The Terror the equivalent of that Chernobyl companion podcast? Will check it out if so.
I haven't found many podcasts that take a proper historical look at the Franklin expedition. These guys talk about it in the context of polar exploration in general. It's a bit rough around the edges but as a history documentary fan I love their intro.
If the user who reminded me of The Ritual is here - thank you. It was a comfy watch >tfw Troughton's character fucks things up and is bullied because of his weight Poor qt can't catch a break
I think you're forgetting Chernobyl threads were all dying with few posts before /ternobyl/ was created. These threads work and are comfy, stop being so whiny.
Owen Morgan
no one is stopping you to make a Sopranos/The Wire thread, stop complaining
Inaccurate series of events. The bullshitting women saying a thermal explosion would be "Two megatons" which is impossible.
The fucking propaganda at the end of the show claiming that thousands of people died due to Chernobyl. In reality only a handful of people died and cancer rates are barely above the rest of the world around chernobyl.
Fuck this show. It was boring and frustrating at the same time. It doesn't depict the USSR realistically (except for the bribes).
I wouldn't be surprised if this show was funded by oil executives trying to maintain the fear of nuclear power among the general public because they know nuclear power is the only thing that threatens conventional power generation.
Nicholas Walker
Fuck off retard. We've had this conversation too many times.
Nathaniel Sanders
autism?
Bentley Kelly
terror prequel kino with james ross and crozier exploring antarctica when
Ayden Brooks
Are there any good books like The Terror? It doesn't need to have supernatural elements.
Sebastian Miller
I had a dream that I lived in an eldritch world where Hickey was God. It was kino to end all kino.
I was really impressed with Chernobyl, and I have to say Terror let me down.
I get it was a novel adaptation, so it had to at least loosely fit the original narrative, but holy fuck did The Tuunbaq ruin it for me.
Terror's journey was already perilous, and it would have succeeded as a show far more if Tuunbaq was merely a foil to drive the crew's paranoia. Having it actually exist and be a threat really deflated it all for me.
Back in the highschool I really liked Jack London's works about the sea and shit (like The Sea Wolf or Tales of the Fish Patrol). They are pretty fun[/spoilers]
Caleb Davis
where can I pirate chernobyl lads?
Jackson Walker
Whatever Boris
Carter Gomez
I like him too but I only read the land ones. I'll check it out.
Benjamin Hernandez
yeah the monster parts were a bit iffy, but I think the cinematography, the writing and the characters are so amazing, that Tuunbaq doesn't even matter. Also, the acting is kino as fuck, one of the greatest castings of all time.
Think like this: there are no true villains in The Terror. No one controls the weather, Tuunbaq is just being Tunnbaq, there's not even evil human characters: in the show at least, Hickey is a dumb slut who wanted to live in some hot island and lead poisoning fucked up his mind, similar to the way fucked Collins'. The true villain in The Terror, like in Chernobyl, is arrogance. That's pretty kino, user.
Robert Flores
Fish Patrol is a bunch of lighthearted short stories, probably the best for starting to check out. God, it's been years since I've read them, so maybe I remember them better than they really are, but I loved those stories so much I read Patrol twice in one year
Tyler Ward
they had to attribute the expedition's failure and loss to something so
>and it would have succeeded as a show far more if Tuunbaq was merely a foil to drive the crew's paranoia.
wouldn't work. the polar bear was retarded but at least offer a somewhat workable solution
Landon Campbell
you should read about the antarctic expeditions of shackleton and scott, someone posted a podcast link above
Brandon Scott
maybe if you grow up a bit you'll appreciate it
Joseph Hughes
Well then why couldn't it have just been normal bears occasionally attacking the crew? Don't get me wrong, I like The Terror a lot, but that explanation is still iffy considering there is literally a supernatural force targeting them and them specifically.
Carter Hernandez
I'll, thank you
Carter Cook
>couldn't save Fitzjames >couldn't save Legasov literally no reason to exist upon this cursed planet anymore
You'd expect family members speaking up about their lost son, brother or father. almost 130 men died in the Arctic and there's not a single "My great great uncle knew e.g.Cornelius Hickey" story
Aaron Morales
You know what you can do though? Read Fitzjames' 10 000 word humorous poem about the Chinaman incident.
>ywn pick up his small starved body as lightly as a maiden and carry him to safety >ywn use modern medical knowledge and technology to nurse him back to health >ywn watch his beautiful hair grow back and the color return to his cheeks by the day
>ywn be able to give him your food ration so he can gain his strength back >ywn sit by his bedside and listen to his adventures >ywn hear him mutter your name in his sleep
>tfw Crozier spent all his time on his fateful final voyage lonely and longing for Ross and writing tender letters to him
Chase Clark
Ah yes. Sorry for the confusion, user
Jason Williams
> Why I should have gone so far and not said one word about dear "That" who from my heart I do hope has benefitted by change of air and getting away from comfortless Blackheath – I would like to have seen your place that I might often picture to myself your little employments With Gods blessing my Lady [sic] I will not fail on my return to soon find my way down to see you at all events one thing is certain, meet when we may it will be to me a source of heart felt pleasure. >"That" I will not forget about the sketch from what I have seen one appears to have a member who drew prettily particularly in "Erebus" Who the hell is "That"?
Watched chernobyl twice. Planning to watch the terror a second time but I have to download a better version than the one I currently have, real lazy about that
Brody King
there's a mount terror on the antarctic
Robert Bennett
5x Chernobyl, am on my 4th rewatch of Terror
Xavier Stewart
What if Cornelius Hickey was actually an incel
Thomas Gutierrez
Would Hickey be a sorcerer or a pyromancer? Very important question
>watched The Terror and participated in the threads as they happened >the entire series was basically released with episode 1, though you had to be a cable subscriber to amc or some shit to get all ten episodes >entire series leaks on about episode 4 or 5 >what could've been a 11/10 general about a show that was still releasing weekly was replaced with an 8/10 general for a show that just came out in full
I would still give Legasov my lungs, bone marrow and pancreas, but now only after I've given Fitzjames medical attention and ensured that his condition is stable and improving and his fellows know how to care for him.
Why didn't Hickey do the classic smug anime girl laugh?
Jeremiah Jackson
Crozier would punish him as a boy if he did.
Aaron Torres
Kill yourself.
Nathan Gomez
>In reality only a handful of people died and cancer rates are barely above the rest of the world around chernobyl.
Do you have a source for this, Soviet propagandist?
Samuel Hall
He has Soviet propaganda sources which only counted deaths that were direct and immediate.
Jose Flores
>and Gibson didn't seem a bad lad
He seemed borderline retarded and he sold Hickey out. Worst boy.
Asher Nguyen
They should've fucking lashed him alongside Hickey. >muh devious seducer Gibson's an adult and has the ability to make his own decisions on where to stick his dick.
>How do I miss you – I cannot bear going on board Erebus >All goes on smoothly but James dear I am sadly alone, not a soul have I in either ship that I can go and talk to. >I feel that I am not in spirits for wintering but in truth I am sadly lonely >God bless you boy not forgetting the Son and believe me
God imagine how he must've suffered towards the end, knowing that he will never see his friend again and having not a single man to turn to in his darkest time. We always talk about saving the Chernobyl crew but I would do anything to save the Terror and Erebus crew as well.
Was Collins happy when he died? Did his soul get released from damnation when the monster died? I love that poor man :(
Juan Foster
Pretty strange that all these men are now immortalized by a show showing them eating people, fucking each other in the ass and being chased by a magic bear.
Jeremiah Green
I think it's a proven fact that they did eat each other considering the state of the bones that were found. As for fucking each other in the ass, kinda sucks but hey Mr. Hickey should've had a more proactive family.
Jonathan Martin
I sure hope he was released. He was sweet and gentle :__;
Maybe he valiantly died saving 5 Eskimo babies from being eaten by bears
Xavier Hughes
Maybe he survived and his bloodline lives on in some random tribe? It would be just like fucking the real thing wouldn't it?
Camden Butler
>good doctor dude is called Goodsir >dude who has a lot of sex is called Hickey >big dude is called Magnus >there's a dude called James Fitzjames for some reason What hack wrote this garbage?
They really aged some of the characters in the show then, Goodsir's actor was like in his 40s.
Leo Long
These are the only tolerable gay threads on Yea Forums
Jacob Green
People became adults much earlier then
Ayden Gonzalez
For sure but my main point is how much more time they had ahead of them and how much they could've done. Fitzjames especially was a flame that burned too brightly.
I liked the part where Irving chimped out but then it's revealed at the very end that he saved the photos on his phone, kino television.
Logan White
I do think they should've toned down the scene where Hickey commits suicide after his boipussy pics reach London, but on the other hand it was an important scene for kids in the digital age.
Luis Harris
I feel like Hickey is degenerate enough to actually be happy if his nudes got leaked.
Alexander Lewis
I'm going to bed lads. Don't let the thread die please
Hickey would love the attention and the numerous men coming out of the woodwork to proposition him for sex
Gavin Hill
hard to answer, would re-watch individual episodes waiting on the next ones while they were coming out, needed something to break the depressing monotony of all my normie friends constantly talking about GoT
Lucas Diaz
Did your normie friends at least realize GOT was shit at the end?
I'm re-watching Chernobyl episode 1 right now. He does seem so much more grown up in this role. Ignatenko is a far more interesting acting from Nagaitis. I really do prefer this character.
>Ignatenko is a far more interesting acting from Nagaitis
He just plays an innocent guy who suffers. I prefer Hickey, there's a lot more nuance there. Though I will say he's very talented to play two completely opposite characters.
Isaac Smith
The Terror costumes where beautiful. But Chernobyl's costumes (and all of it's design) captured something special. Can't put my finger on it. The realness?
See I feel like the simplicity of it makes it more complicated, which is often the case with performance.
It's just my opinion, but I found Ignatenko to be more appealing. I don't think I would have much of an interest in Nagaitis as an actor if I had watched The Terror first.
Judging by that pic that tells you the fates of people involved, it seems like the firemen got fucked over the hardest. They all died within 15-17 days, only Akimov and Toptunov are near that level.
Henry Ward
No I know, I just mean in terms of bad luck.
Easton Rogers
i was gonna post a screenshot but for some reason, hbo go doesn't allow that. which episode of chernobyl was your favorite? mine was the first, but the ending of episode 3 was the most kino scene of all.
Noah Harris
Episode 1 is honestly one of the best pieces of media I've ever seen.
Ryan Taylor
We work for the happiness of all mankind.
Josiah Kelly
I screenshot HBO all the time. It may be your browser.
5 was literally fanfic, most of the other episodes kept fairly close to the historical record but the fifth took such an absurd turn into Hollywood drama it was jarring
Levi Reyes
>more handsome Charles Bronson So more of a woman?
Elijah Harris
How come these shitty generals can stay but /got can't ?
Nathan Garcia
Because unlike Chernobyl and The Terror, GOT is shit.
