You don't need to cast someone that looks indistinguishable, but they need to look LIKE the character. Hugh Jackman might have been a little tall, but there's a reason (most) people can intuitively understand why he's a better pick for Wolverine than Melissa McCarthy.

Even discarding the idea of racial stunt casting for woke marketing, it's bad casting just from the perspective of the lore - a sorceress will often use magic to make themselves unnaturally beautiful, but if I saw the girl playing Triss selling it on skipthegames for $150/hr, I'd take a pass.

And while we only have the one scene in the trailer, she looks to be mediocre at delivery, too. So we got an actress that doesn't look the part, doesn't fit the story, and isn't even especially good.
