The game itself is free with trainer versions of the SU25 and P51 to see if your computer runs it well. The modules generally considered best are f18, f14 and a10. Theres also the flamiong cliffs module that give you several planes but they arent high fidelity and dont have clickable cockpits.

Download from eagle dynamics directly, not on steam. The steam version is a buggy mess and a red headed stepchild.

Also, lots of modules actually have an arcade mode that simplify the flight characteristics and make it more accessible. After a while of sahooting down AI baddies though the fun begins to come from learning how to fly the plane and after the first time of learning how to start, takeoff, drop some laser guided bombs and then land is a challenging and very rewarding experience.

Its also fun to just slam 8 shots of vodka and try to do nightime carrier landings, or start with an enemy AI plane headed straight for you and get into fun 5 minute guns only dogfights.

Seriously, its a fun game. Try it. I also believe that they are doing their summer sale right now so everything is like half off.
