I want someone to explain to me what this image is. Anno seems to be fixated a little bit too much on blood colored random shapes at this point. Everything is just some random bullshit with a thick layer of goopy blood on it. I get it in terms of A E S T H E T I C, but it seems kind of excessive at this point.

Nothing, desu. The Rebuilds have mostly been disappointing. Somewhere down the line, like halfway through 2.0, Anno lost his creative spark. They feel like Micheal Bay's version of Eva; all style, no substance. Most of the intriguing character development is gone or barely touched upon. Mari is a boring OC, Seele's nothing more than monoliths now, Gendo''s the actual main villain now, Willie's barely interesting, 3.33 was a glib clusterfuck, and it feels like they're trying to hard to one up the original series.
Anno should probably quit Eva and just move on to live action like he did with Shin Godzilla.
