Am I the only one who is totally hyped for this?
I mean, sure they can mess it up bigtime, but if this ends up being good, we might start seeing a whole lot more from the black library being adapted to the screen.
Warhammer 40K Eisenhorn Tv-series

Warhamner aesthetic is too over the top for tv
What are the odds they actually do a good job with this? They got the story right with Eisenhorn. But it’s live action, so how are they going to make the Emperor’s Children not look ridiculous?
If this becomes popular, it will attract the Star Wars and Game of Thrones audience, who will then lobby for it to become more inclusive and therefore make it shit. No, thanks.
Eisenhorn adventures are more like detective/spy series not over the top action movie
EC marine is not a problem i think. The real challenge is Cherubael
They cannot keep it true to lore and attract a female audience at the same time. They will find a way to inject some romantic triangle bullshit.
They'll just simplify the designs. Eisenhorn will be a dude in a leather trenchcoat with a big gun, industrial ruins with vague cgi backgrounds will be used for hive cities and all the supernatural will be cheap cgi with voice distortion. Focus will be character drama and action kept to a minimum. Mystery, philosophy or imperial ideology will be skipped completely as it's too complicated for the target audience, which isn't you or any other Warhammer fans.
>Mystery, philosophy or imperial ideology will be skipped completely as it's too complicated for the target audience
My worst fear for this series
Yeah can't wait for them to normalize and water down yet another IP.
STAY AWAY FROM MY HOBBY NORMIES REEEE
why would I want to watch some overhyped guardsman wander through weak technoscapes playing detective? If its going to be a 40K show find the guy who made "Astartes" on youtube and make a proper adaptation.
>fascist regime on steroids
They wont do shit. Not in todays political climate. Especially omnibus.
Well maybe someone should remind the producers to stay true to the source material if they want this series to have any chance to do well
You will end rewatching Event Horizon over and over after your franchise is raped to death.
I've read the trilogy. Eisenhorn has a good love story for a scifi. Gregor is psychic. Alizabeth is a null. Nulls are shunned in the society because of the psychic void effect they have on people. Her touch hurts him. Her presence causes headaches. And they care about each other very much, but don't come out and say it the L-word to each other, even as they confess that feeling to their friends. Gregor also chooses his duty to the Throne over personal happiness, all the while doubting if it is a necessary sacrifice.
They need someone with absolute passion and dedication for this project, and who can disregard the most insane brainfarts from marketing/focus group testing.
Cast them
Not this again. You can't make a movie where everyone's a bad guy.
it could work
>implying
Sounds like heresy to me citizen.
>Mystery, philosophy or imperial ideology will be skipped completely as it's too complicated for the target audience
Literally recipe for disaster. Do not bother with a scifi setting show if you're going to underestimate your audience.
>Unironically believing that the Eisenhorn books are too deep to be mainstream
Fucking mouthbreathing brainlets
Literally no way this won't be shit. Absolutely no way.
Written by Dan Abnett.
Producers worked in The Man in the High Castle.
Story is NOT the bolter porn people assume WH40K to be.
This isn't automatically trash.
I always imagined that a WH40k would work in a Black Hawk Down/Dunkirk/Saving Private Ryan kind of way, where you see a bunch of imperial soldiers go through a battlefield and be observers to the big shit but semi-active actors in smaller skirmishes. But that would be as a movie
I have high hopes in the guy making it, but its a 70% sure flob. It has no mainstream appeal and the lore is too massive but interconnected to feasibly be put on screen. Isolated video games work, this doesn´t
They'll find some way to fuck it up don't worry.
you're such a debbie downer
