My 19 year old younger sister lives on her own. She doesn't have a TV or Laptop in her home. The only thing she owns is a smartphone.

Meanwhile I'm 26 and live with my 25 year old girlfriend and we still own a Television (although almost never use it) and both of us primarily use the laptop and almost never use a smartphone.

Our 50 year old parents still watch cable television and barely use computers and smartphones.

There's a clear divide in generation. My little sister only watches netflix through her smartphone and it's the only device she ever uses. Doubt she can even type on a physical keyboard properly.

I wonder if the next generation will consider smartphones to be outdated trash and only connect to the internet with their neuralink brainchip or something like that.

Wild at Heart is fantastic, watched it yesterday. Nick Cage is born to play his role and Laura Dern doesn’t seem like she’d be a good choice for a character who’s a total whore given her other roles but her performance is brilliant. There’s a little too much overacting for me, mainly from Lula’s mother’s actress whose name I forgot, but overacting is basically a staple of Lynch’s filmography. Replaced True Romance as my favourite road trip movie

Projectors are honestly the way to go though, there are movies I’ve seen in theaters I would not have enjoyed as much on my laptop.

Also films are mixed for a 7.1 or 5.1 surround sound system, not a stereo channel output.
Even if you get the most expensive Audeze headphones and a headphone pre-amp, you still have an infinitely inferior setup because the 5.1 audio source file needs to be downmixed into a stereo channel to be reproduced from your cans, and that never sounds good.
Not to mention the fact that with headphones you just have two tiny speakers farting in your ear, compared to actually feeling the sound throughout your whole body as if the events are happening all around you.

I can asure you an actual sound system will improve your viewing experience far more than a bigger brighter screen.

If a movie is good it can be played on any screen and still have the same weight

By "experience" I mean watching it in a theater. If you have to play something in a theater your brain will automatically have bias towards that movie, it'll make it seem better even if it's not. If you watch it on your phone you can enjoy a movie without that bias. If a movie is quality it'll be just as good without the "experience"
